I haven't drank any alcohol for over 10 days and I'm up 5 lbs..... Grrrrr. However my endurance is also on the rise so I guess I will take that.

It might not be impressive to you but man, I go 2-4 miles and can't touch that pace.

You can get there, it just takes time. Running like anything else is a skill that takes a few years to perfect your stride and foot strike. But you gradually adapt and your pace will improve. Just stay with it! When I started I could maybe log .25 mile on a treadmill at a 10-11 minute pace before I had to walk. Getting through a mile was my cardio at the start of my present fitness level. Running is by far my strongest of the swimming, biking, and running that I do. Depending upon the distance I can hold anywhere from a 6:20-6:30 (5K pace, 6:45 in tris), and I am generally 7:30 or a little less in my longer tris and adjust accordingly with the difficulty of the course and temps. Last weekend my 13.1 time I held an 8:11 pace but incorporated 11, 50 second walking breaks but the run was extremely hilly and the temp was around 80.

This is the part that I feel like I likely struggle with and almost wonder if I need to see a physical therapist about it. I'm still fairly young(29 next month) but I tore my ACL in my left knee when I was 16, then tore my ACL in my right knee at 17 and again at age 19. I had 4 knee surgeries, 3 ACL related in a 4 year time span. As a result I shied away from sports for a while and lost a lot of muscle in both legs. I feel like my gate and foot strike are both likely way off. Most of the time after I run my knees and hips are rather sore.

Week 2 round 2 in the books.

It was a struggle but I made it through.

Second time around so your fitness level is way up there. But no fuel means struggle. Concerned about your low calorie input considering the workout.

I am full, but at the same time I know I should, at times be eating more.

I just can't eat to eat.

Your not getting near enough protein and too many carbs. A good starting point is a % split of 40/40/20 of protein/fat/carbs. Based on a 2000 calorie diet your macros would look like this...200g protein/89g fat/100g carbs. You then can fine tune it to fit your needs. Some people don't handle the carbs near as well so they may go a 45/45/10 and some need more so they may go with a 40/30/30.

Just a suggestion.

The women just finished the Burden Run, looked brutal.

The men are getting ready to start.

Oink oink

Man that looked like it sucked. Tonight's event should be fun to watch but would suck to do it.

You guys are missing out if you're not taking advantage of this cool July weather. Did a 40 mile group ride that felt great and thinking I need to get out and run a little because it is so darn nice outside.

Thinking about doing a little circuit training over the next 2 weeks to change things up from the past months routine. So far I'm thinking

Day 1) 3 min run, bench 135 lbs to fail, curl w/ barbell to fail, standing overhead press to fail, situps to fail, tricep extensions w/ rope to fail shrugs to fail, bent over rows to fail and then repeat 3x

Day 2) 1 mile sprint on elliptical, leg press to fail, inner/outer thigh to fail, speed rope for a minute, dead lift to fail, back raises to fail and leg lifts to fail then repeat 3x.

Plan on doing those days back to back then rest a day and repeat over the next couple of weeks. Anyone have any suggestions, adding or subtracting or replacing a portion of the workout? I'm open, this is my rough draft of what I'm thinking of starting on Monday as of right now.

I went to crossfit this morning. Would have preferred a nice long run outside but it was raining this morning. Now I'm parked firmly on the couch watching the Clean and Jerk ladder at the games. The weights some of the women put up made me feel pretty weak.

Froning in first place after the C&J ladder but its close. Was a fun event to watch.
