Rookie Fitness (Just Do It!)

Featured Replies

Thinking of changing gyms. Have gone to snap fitness for almost 2 years now bc I could get in 24 hours. That was nice in case I couldn't make it in before work if I wasn't up to it or if the girlfriend and I had plans. Fast forward a year and I'm single and haven't gone to the gym after 5 in over 6 months. Snap is close but it's small and seeing as that I often workout alone I think I could benefit from having more equipment available to me. Plus I'd like to be able to row and swim as part of my workouts. Right now I'm torn between LA Fitness and Silver Lake/better Bodies in NKY.

Town and country has a nice pool.

Indeed it does, but I currently live in Independence and work off of the Erlanger exit. I'm applying for another job which if I get would also be right off of the Erlanger exit so wanting something that would be close to work. I like to get up early hit the gym, hit the shower and then head to work.

Three weeks round two in the books and all seems well.

I decided to weigh in and was surprised to see that I am now down to 198. Three pounds lost, so I am averaging a pound a week this go around and since I started this battle I have dropped a total, of 75 pounds.

At the end of my workout yesterday I did a lot of "Rocky Abs"...I hurt.

What exactly are Rocky Abs?

Ha I do those every time I do abs but had never heard them called that before. That guy was rocking some sweet pants in that video.

15 miles in the books. Perfect weather. Ride the IM course tomorrow and IT'S TAPER TIME!!!!!!!

Did 110 miles of the Louisville IM course today. That second loop sucks.

That it does. I'll be cheering for you at that long climb at the furthest out point, before you make that left hand turn. Was that your first century? I did 54 miles today. Tough week of exercising.

Yep. First century. What road are you talking about?

153/Pendleton Road. It is past LaGrange a little ways. It is a long climb and you make a left hand turn that's still climbing at that point.

So, it's before Ballard School Road?

Further out. Looks like Cedar Run Road. You turn off that on to 153.
