Hard to say. Going to Boyle would be a move out of spite. They aren't guaranteed to be any better than Danville any time soon. With Boyle backing out of the Highlands game I think they are sending a strong message to the state about how they feel about how good they will be.

 

I heard tonight that if Coach Perry doesn't get the head coaching job that he'll leave Danville so you may be on to something. I hope he doesn't get the Will Dunn treatment and that his kid can play immediately. Ridiculous they make kids sit out while they are legal students in a school system.

The last three Danville hires were from "outside" the current staff.

 

Steele Harmon was hired from Centre College.

 

Tom Duffy, not sure where he came from but it wasn't the Admiral staff.

 

Sam Harp was hired from Anderson County. Of course the last hire was in 1988.

Seems odd that the Henderson people would be upset with that. Obviously you don't want your head coach to leave if things are going well, but you have to be reasonable when the school in question is your coach's alma mater.

I agree also. Just repeating what I was told. Some people don't like change. I'm sure there is alot of parents, players, and alumni that have alot invested in Clevenger and the program, those are probably the ones that are a little upset.

Unfortunately, those are also the same parents who are the first ones to pitch a fit when things aren't going great for the team and/or most importantly to them; their little Johnny.

Clevenger has been at Henderson for 6 yrs. 2 times lost in 1st round of playoffs,made 2nd round 2 times, made regional final 2 times. thats not all that impressive being he is at one of the biggest schools in state if not the biggest.

A 36-14-1 record over last 4 years & those 2 1st rd exits mentioned were the first 2 seasons under Clevenger. That's not too bad considering the competition at the 6A level.

2007 - Marshall County, 42-25 (First Round)

2008 - Ballard, 30-0 (First Round)

2009 - Greenwood, 31-7 (Regional Final)

2010 - Male, 14-7 ot (Second Round)

2011 - Butler, 31-24 ot (Regional Final)

2012 - Eastern, 21-17 (Second Round)

Western Ky 6A football is extremely poor and that is being nice about it.
