Shadon Brown and Clay Clevenger. Hearing Clevenger is the front runner but not sure how true that is.

 

Also heard they want to name the new coach by the end of January. Again, I am not sure how true that is.

Heard as of today that they only have two that have officially applied with an application. A lot of people asking about the job but doesn't sound like many making it official that they are interested. At least not yet anyway.

I wonder who will be on the hiring committee? I hope they put some people with football background and are familiar with Danville football and athletics on it and not just put people from the community and administrators on it. I know it will officially be up to the site-base counsel and the Principle to make the decision but I hope they get some input from some people that have vested interest in the program.

I was told from someone close to the administration that Ed McKinney and Wade Stansfield are on it. I also heard they asked another administrator to be on the committee but they declined. I may send Carmen an email.

A lot of times you have some good coaches happy at the place they are and are not going to apply for a job, but if someone approaches them about it they may become interested and then may apply.

I'd love to see that but I doubt they will do that.

I also think not having an AD is going to make this hire harder. They need to get an AD hired. Coach Harp did a great job as AD/Football Coach, but the next AD doesn't need to be a current coach. They just need an AD that doesn't coach any sport.

Has that job been posted? I was wondering how they would fill that spot.

If they were smart they would go out and find a top notch coach and use the AD position as part of the deal to get him there and set his job duties teaching wise.
