It would be intriguing to see anyone with Boyle County ties put in for the job. Outwardly folks would say 'good luck' or 'good for him' but inside they'd be steaming. :lol:

I think you are probably right but it's interesting how some of those lines blur for the adults who played.

 

I remember in 1990 there as an "All-Time Danville and All-Time Boyle Squad announced and honored."

 

I also recall that the night Boyle honored their's one of their chosen greats was not there because he was on the sideline at Danville coaching. (Jay Reynolds)

 

When Danville honored their team three of their selections were absent because they were on the sidelines coaching for Boyle that evening: Sam Burke, Jim Donlon and Theo Cotton (who was actually there to see his son play for the Rebels).

 

Like you I'd be shocked to see someone with long time ties to Boyle named.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I don't think Danville will be in any hurry to make a decision. Especially since they don't have any teaching jobs open at the present time. This could be another reason they lean towards Coach Perry.

I would like to see Chuck Smith get the job purely for the sake of irony.

The gut that left Boyle's staff and is now on Bourbon's staff that played collegiately at Centre is Justin Roe. That may be who you guys are thinking about. Great guy, great wife as well LOVELY COUPLE!

Yes. I believe they have been a perennial top 5 team in the 12th region since Paul Morse took over.

Have been ranked in the top 25 in the state at least once for something like 9 or ten years in a row.

Just like any sport if you want to be good at it you better work at it year around. I doubt if he talks to them about playing time that way, but if your not working on your game and someone else at that same position is I wonder who is going to be the better player?

Mutli/3 sport athletes always seem to be better than the guys who work only on one, IMHO.

 

Especially football and baseball guys. I've never seen a good baseball player who wasn't a good football player, especially catcher/pitcher/QB's. Seems like if they are good in one, chances are they are good at the other.

Good grief. How many D1 baseball players has Danville produced? It's high school sports, PLAY EVERYTHING! 99% of all players are done playing when the final out is made in high school. And for the record...NOBODY gets a full baseball scholarship. There are 11 or so baseball scholarships divided up amongst the 30+ players on a division 1 baseball team. 85 FULL scholarships available at division 1 football level. If yo uare going to "work year round"...your best opportunity would be to invest the time in football. Just one persons observed opinion.
