December 10, 201213 yr Will Petrino be there for more than 2 seasons? I think the line has to be 2 years max. Dumb hire on WKY's part.
December 10, 201213 yr Reporter: "Why did you choose WKU?" Petrino: "Some nice motorcycle territory in rural Warren County."
December 10, 201213 yr Reporter: "Why did you choose WKU?" Petrino: "Some nice motorcycle territory in rural Warren County." I think he took a tour of the sorority houses and liked what he saw.
December 10, 201213 yr Will Petrino be there for more than 2 seasons? What difference does it make? They can continue what Coach T started and get some pub in the process. It'll set them up for a desirable replacement when Petrino does bolt.
December 10, 201213 yr Author What difference does it make? They can continue what Coach T started and get some pub in the process. It'll set them up for a desirable replacement when Petrino does bolt. Agreed. It couldn't hurt.
December 10, 201213 yr Will Petrino be there for more than 2 seasons? Will any good hire Western makes ever be there more than 2 years?
December 10, 201213 yr Yeah, it'll be a tragedy when a bunch of kids excited to play for a certified football genius with an explosive offensive mindset commit to Western. What will be really sad is when those players play in some memorable games and possibly score an upset or two. UK plays WKU again this year in Nashville, right?
December 10, 201213 yr I pick WKU over USF next year. Say what you want about Petrino and his character, but the man can coach. WKU got an upgrade in the Head Coach department. Hopefully Bobby P can keep his nose clean.
December 10, 201213 yr I actually think this is a brilliant hire, if he bolts sooner than 4 or 5 years his reputation will still be what it is now. Someone who has serious commitment issues. It will take a while for him to repair that and if Western can get 4 to 6 years out of him it will be the greatest hire they ever make, and potentially one they can ride to a conference a little higher than Sunbelt, i.e. C-USA or Big East.
December 10, 201213 yr People who call this dumb aren't looking at the bigger picture. Schools like Western are going to be used as a stepping stone. They couldn't even Taggert who went to Western. If someone is able to step up to a bigger school then that means he had success at WKU and that's all the Tops can ask for. It's the never ending cycle of the coaching carousel.
