August 27, 201313 yr Once my wife gets her itenerary I'll let you know. I'd love to meet you for a beverage. That'd be great!
September 2, 201313 yr But remember, they are all made in KY. My wife has taken on a new role since this thread has started. She is now the state manager for Beam, Inc. in KY. Bourbon is obviously their go-to product, there are many other products she sells. Yes, they are based out of Deerfield, IL but there is no production or bottling taking place there. Does this include the BBQ sunflower seeds, by far the best sunflower seed ever!
September 2, 201313 yr I picked up my bottle from Maker's today. It was a great tour and really cool to put the label on my bottle and get to dip it as well. My father in law liked it so much, we signed him up as an ambassador on the spot. We also stopped at Heaven Hill on the way back and had some Evan Williams Single Barrel. I was really impressed and will be adding that to the shelf.
October 29, 201312 yr Myroommate splurged on a bottle and bought some Booker's. It one of Jim Beam's small batch bourbons... Wow. It's robust... It's a fantastic sipping bourbon, but man oh man! Be careful. It tastes too good for something that's 65% alcohol. I've been wanting to try it for a while, and it has exceeded my expectations... I'd definitely recommend this one.
October 29, 201312 yr I've been sipping on Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage a good deal since Jim introduced it to me when I came down for the Bourbon Festival. Really good stuff.

Also becoming a fan of Russell's Reserve 10yo after those folks got me good and sloshed on free stuff at the Wild Turkey event during KBF.

December 30, 201312 yr Got the old man a bottle of Speakeasy bourbon. Good stuff. Very smooth. One of the Willett line. Speaking of Willett, I went up to Iowa to visit relatives and found out that a bottle of the Willett Family Estate Single Barrel (121 proof!) that I got for a friend for Christmas last year had not been opened. I had them stow it at my aunt's place for a special occasion.
December 30, 201312 yr Two separate family members gave me a 750ml of bourbon, both were Lexington Bourbon. I wouldn't pay $28 for the bottles, it seems to be very young. I did take a gift card and parlay that into a 750ml of Knob Creek Single Barrel. It's pretty tasty.

I had a belt of Lexington Bourbon a few months back, and although it wasn't particularly bad at all...I agree with you, it wasn't particularly impressive either. Not worth the price tag.
