August 13, 201313 yr The Heaven Hill brands and I have long been well acquainted... Had no idea Kirin owned Four Roses. That's my beer of choice at a Japanese restaurant.
August 15, 201313 yr CWB, Why might the list you provided with owners affect what you buy? Just guessing but he may be more inclined to buy from the KY owned places.
August 15, 201313 yr Just guessing but he may be more inclined to buy from the KY owned places. Bingo...or at very least, US owned.
August 15, 201313 yr Bingo...or at very least, US owned. To be fair, the Italians, Japanese and Louisianans are representing the third world well with the labels they're coming out with. I've been a big fan recently of Four Roses' single barrel. Sigh. First cappuccino, now Bourbon.
August 15, 201313 yr Just guessing but he may be more inclined to buy from the KY owned places. I know I am. I'm more inclined to buy knowing that pretty close to 100 percent of that money is staying in Kentucky. I've been inclined toward Heaven Hill and Brown-Foreman products for a long time now. There's always a bottle of Old Forester and a bottle of Old Fitzgerald on my shelf.
August 16, 201313 yr Bingo...or at very least, US owned. But remember, they are all made in KY. My wife has taken on a new role since this thread has started. She is now the state manager for Beam, Inc. in KY. Bourbon is obviously their go-to product, there are many other products she sells. Yes, they are based out of Deerfield, IL but there is no production or bottling taking place there.

I'm not nay-saying that. I appreciate greatly the fact that Toyota builds so many of their Camries in Georgetown instead of importing them from overseas. Still, I think I may be a little more frequent with my consumption of Kentucky-owned bourbons.
