May 23, 201412 yr Evan Williams Single Barrel 10yo Jim introduced me to this one last fall. I've constantly had a bottle of it in my liquor cabinet ever since. It's one good damn bourbon.

May 24, 201412 yr Author What's a good bourbon to try for some one that hasn't tried much other than Beam or Makers? Looking for something to keep around the house for a drink every now and then. Like I said I've had little experience with bourbons. Any education on what to look for would be appreciated. Buffalo Trace.

May 27, 201412 yr Yes, it's the red label, the blue label is 86 proof. I actually just bought that for the first time like a month back. Solid bourbon.
February 27, 201511 yr Recently finished a bottle of Old Grand-Dad 114. I thought it was great and it's received great feedback. Is this a newer product, can't remember seeing it before.

OGD has been made for years but Beam makes it now but until '87 it was made by National Distillers. I've never had it but people go crazy for the old stuff made by ND. I've saw some pretty insane prices at auctions for them. Fun fact, the "Old Grand Dad" is Basil Hayden.

On a related note, tried some Jefferson's Ocean today . . . it was excellent. Just got a 1 ounce sample as I do not feel comfortable spending ~$90 on a bottle of bourbon.
