I was very disappointed in what I will call a lack of effort on defense. Several players with little or no motor at all.

 

Hated to see Towles get hurt...

D seemed out of position most of the game to make plays...is it an issue of effort or of poor coaching and play calling by Minter and staff.

1. If Towles was as good as Whitlow he should have been given the chance early to learn the pkaybook.

2. Still makes no sense to me how a senior QB was the starter last season can't even be the back up this season. Player development is coaches fault.

3. If Towles isn't better than Whitlow then they wasted a red shirt on 1 game.

I think it was a good idea to initially redshirt Towles; and I have no problem taking away the redshirt when you are 1-4 and hosting a top 20 team. I also think that with a few breaks the 'Cats could be undefeated this season. The loss at home to WKU was not that big of a deal. Joker and his assistants are doing a terrific job keeping this program focused and heading in the right direction. (Oh by the way, my 7-yr old informed me that today is "opposite day".)

If Towles can go next week I say start him and let him be the man. I see him as the future and with the redshirt burned, I say take our lumps and let him get the experience in the SEC.

As I said in the game thread the sooner Neloms finishes playing the better for UK.

 

Miles Simpson has been a disappointment on defense.

 

O-Line made it hard for both frosh QBs today.

 

Pat needs to take some air OFF of his passes. I think it will be him and Max Smith competing next year for the starting job. Right now Max is better.
