October 7, 201214 yr I was very disappointed in what I will call a lack of effort on defense. Several players with little or no motor at all. Hated to see Towles get hurt... Not sure I agree with you. The defense got the ball back over and over for the offense in the second half and they just couldn't get anything going.
October 7, 201214 yr What was the crowd today? It looked like there couldn't have been more than 30,000. They will probably say the "official" attendance was 50,000, but there was a lot of empty spaces in Commonwealth.
October 7, 201214 yr I by no means am a Joker apologist but how many times could Rich Brooks lose his top two QBs, his starting running back, and half his secondary to injury and be competitive. Good programs are built on the assistant coaches and Minter and Sanders should have the finger pointed their way more than Joker. However, it's hard to throw downfield when your receivers can't catch. The team's best senior receiver is starting for the Green Bay Packers. There's a lot of issues here and it's hard to put my finger on just one problem. The biggest issue is who they recruit and put in their secondary. It's been beyond bad for years. They've recruited some high talent at running back (Priester, etc.) and they haven't panned out. And what of Bookie Cobbins? He was the flavor of the week last year with people wanting to pull off his redshirt. Is his career up in smoke? For whatever reasons, Joker has had to play 15 true freshmen this year. 15. Unheard of in the SEC. It's time for Joker to ask some of his assistants to fall on their swords if he wants to keep his job -- starting with Minter and Sanders.
