I'm currently living in Independence, KY.

 

Things I like: Yards are a little bigger. There are generally more trees. I live close to a nice frisbee golf course (Banklick/Lincoln Ridge).

 

Things I dislike: It sucks getting anywhere from Independence - it's geographically cut off from everything. There isn't really anywhere good to eat (except my house). All of the folks I've met in my neighborhood are pretty much insane. WAAAAAAAY too many cookie cutter houses with tan siding - its a vinyl siding jungle out here. Too many vehicles with "Tapout" gear stickers in the windows and/or confederate flag license plates.

 

Sell and move to the city. You'll get a different kind of insane.

I live in a little place called Sunfish, it's 30 miles from Bowling Green, 20 miles from Leitchfield, and 15 miles from Brownsville. I like being in the country.

Oh, believe me I know. I used to live in Bellevue. My next door neighbor there would grow his entire front yard full of tomato plants...but he never ate any of them. Oh no; that would make too much sense. Instead, he only used them to throw at cars and passers by.

I'm also in Independence and in walking distance to Lincoln Ridge.

 

Likes: It's nice that I'm a 5 minute drive to 3 18-hole golf courses. It's nice to get more house for the dollar. It's nice that there's really no congestion.

 

Dislikes: I can't walk anywhere other than my subdivision, so no walks with the kids to the corner store for some ice cream or candy like we did when little. There are definitely no good restaurants. I sure do miss the Courthouse and their fried chicken dinner.

 

With the updates to 17 and Turkeyfoot, I don't think travel/location is an issue anymore. I can get to Ft. Wright in 15 minutes, Crestview in 15 minutes, and Florence in 15 minutes, which isn't all that bad.

I live in Independence and really enjoy it. I dislike all the construction on 16. Our subdivision is very nice and clean with great neighbors, a nice park for the kids and a stocked lake.

Bowling Green.

 

Great place to live minus the chain restaurants and WKU students.

Love living in Fort Wright, and it is close to the expressway. We can travel to Ohio, Newport or Florence within minutes. Glad I don't have to sit in traffic in the morning getting on 75 North. The neighborhood is older but it's a great neighborhood. We don't have alot of younger children in the area.

Danville.

 

We need a good sports bar and a White Castle.

 

 

I'm fairly certain(99% sure) I would love living in Ft. Thomas.

Florence. Hodge podge of businesses and buildings. No zoning enforced. On HWY 42, from the intersection of Sugartit, (yes you read that right), to the "No Tell" Motel with the tropical pools, feel free to go ahead and put up any structure you want. You have your ice cream place next to a liquor store across the street from a school squeezed in between a dentist office and a lube oil change place.

Gotta love Florence Y'all.

 

But the people are very nice.

Winchester Ky. Great location, 20 minute drive to Lexington, UK ball games, resturants, Doctors, hospitals and you have I-64 and I-75 right outside your door. Love the neighborhood I am in, lots of people walking, safe, well maintained, and great neighbors. I used to live in EKY, so the property taxes here were a shock.

Citrus Park. Snakes. Have one in my garage right now. Looks to be a black racer. About 3 or 4 foot long. I'm going to buy one of those trappers.

Really not a whole lot to dislike about Union, in my estimation. Unless you don't like subdivisions. Or Ryle.

Really like hanging out at the courthouse with Barney and Pa, although Otis tends to get on my nerves. Can't beat Floyds barber shop when all the grownups are telling their tall tales.

The streets are pretty calm unless somebody is running around yelling "citizens arrest, citizens arrest". And of course there is the occassional sound of glass breaking when Ernest T. Bass is throwing bricks and rocks through windows. All I can think of for now, gotta get back to playin' and other stuff.

Mr. Pope--I think it's a lot like Charming. I think you could be a King in Ft. Thomas.
