Harrodsburg is a pretty small place.

 

I like the fact that folks are very friendly and easy to get along with.

 

I dislike the fact that you can't poop in our town without everybody knowing what color it is.

Danville needs a Chick-fil-A also.

 

Just saw where they're putting one in Newport a mile down the road from Ft. Thomas! I'm in trouble now since it used to be across town about 20 minutes away.

I like the area for the most part. Small enough that I'm comfortable, close enough to places we like to go (Richmond 45 mins, Winchester 25 mins, Lexington 50) and have made several friends since I've been here. Cons: no family lives here.

 

Grew up in Owsley and loved it. Super small and I enjoyed the general closeness of the community. Cons: nothing is there, no cities are truly close.

Ft Thomas is where I have lived the past 14 years and I can't say enough about the people I have become friends with and the various activities available to the kids. Great schools and a peaceful place to live.

 

Outside of the typical groups of people that think they are better than others and spend their days gossiping, it is a fantastic place to raise a family.

I live in Louisville and frankly, there is very little I dislike about where I live, if anything.

 

I love the food scene. I love that we have an extraordinary park system. I love the committment of the community on issues, and the way we rally to help others. I love that Louisville is small enough that I know my neighbors, and have a sense of community, but still have the Orchestra, Opera, Ballet, baseball, major concerts, Actor's Theatre, and darned good zool. I love that there's pretty much a festival every weekend from March through November. I love being able to walk down the street and speak to people I see and they respond. I love the Ali museum, the Speed, the Main Branch of LFPL, and St. James Art Show. I love our committment to preserving our heritage...Old Louisville, NuLu, Main Street, The Highlands. I love helping keep Louisville Weird. I love the committment to supporting local businesses. I love that there's a farmers market somewhere every day of the week. And if I can't make one of them, there's Roots. I could go on and on and on.

 

I dislike Fern Creek and the Dixie Highway and Hurstbourne Lane corridors.

Their is absolutely nothing in Irvine.

 

Danville.

 

We need a good sports bar and a White Castle.

 

 

I'm fairly certain(99% sure) I would love living in Ft. Thomas.

 

I went to Mallards in Danville last spring. Not sure that I would call it a sports bar but it had several tv's and was a nice place. Boyle County was dry when I did my 4 year hitch at Centre C.

 

I really liked Danville when I lived there. I think I would like it even more now. :thumb:

Villa Hills.

 

Very safe and clean. There has never been a murder in the city of Villa Hills. Villa Madonna Complex and the Villa Hills Civic Club provide much green space amidst the housing stock. Only 1 small strip of business. Otherwise, the entire city is zoned strictly residential. Great sports opportunities for boys and girls of all ages. I can be in my seat at Great American Ball Park or Paul Brown Stadium in about 1/2 hour and have deer and wild turkeys on my fence line.

 

What I do not like -- our elected officials are completely nuts. They have been fighting pretty much non-stop since '97. We have a mayoral impeachment hearing coming up next week. City council spent $40,000.00 on a special counsel who uncovered the fact that our mayor did not buy a $250.00 occupational license for his electrical business.

Grew up in DC area, went back this past weekend. Confirmed why I will NEVER live in that area ever again...

 

Since we are not natives to NKY, we have spent the last 20 years in either Boone County or Kenton county. Gotten to know the area and would love to get out of here and spend the next 20 or so in Ft Thomas. Great town, great people, community support of local schools is almost unparalleled.

 

Gave Danville a long, hard look, but just couldn't make logistics work out. Beautiful area, wonderful people, and loved the old houses.

The large pythons haven't made it that far north yet have they?

 

No, not yet. The gators are still too plentiful down in the glades, they're not going to leave their best food source.

 

My aunt wants us to move to E-Town. If it wasn't for the kids and grand kids, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Or maybe relocate to Louisville. Then again, my aunt in Hamilton wants us to move up there. Next year I need to reevaluate things and talk to the kids. If my job ceases to exist, I may have no choice, but to sell out and move.
