Florence. Hodge podge of businesses and buildings. No zoning enforced. On HWY 42, from the intersection of Sugartit, (yes you read that right), to the "No Tell" Motel with the tropical pools, feel free to go ahead and put up any structure you want. You have your ice cream place next to a liquor store across the street from a school squeezed in between a dentist office and a lube oil change place.

Gotta love Florence Y'all.

Also---love my neighborhood and my neighbors. Good schools to choose from. Pretty much anything you want to do, buy, or eat is close by. I'm not leaving.

Etown has you beat on the White Castle. Doesn't Danville have a brewpub?

Danville needs a Chick-fil-A also.

I'm also in Independence and in walking distance to Lincoln Ridge.

 

Likes: It's nice that I'm a 5 minute drive to 3 18-hole golf courses. It's nice to get more house for the dollar. It's nice that there's really no congestion.

 

Dislikes: I can't walk anywhere other than my subdivision, so no walks with the kids to the corner store for some ice cream or candy like we did when little. There are definitely no good restaurants. I sure do miss the Courthouse and their fried chicken dinner.

 

With the updates to 17 and Turkeyfoot, I don't think travel/location is an issue anymore. I can get to Ft. Wright in 15 minutes, Crestview in 15 minutes, and Florence in 15 minutes, which isn't all that bad.

I live in a little place called Sunfish, it's 30 miles from Bowling Green, 20 miles from Leitchfield, and 15 miles from Brownsville. I like being in the country.

Yea, but I would kill for a brewpub in Etown. Or ANY place that had decent beer on tap. The only place to get a good draft beer is in a growler from Packages & More Liquors.

Danville needs a Chick-fil-A also.

Really like hanging out at the courthouse with Barney and Pa, although Otis tends to get on my nerves. Can't beat Floyds barber shop when all the grownups are telling their tall tales.

The streets are pretty calm unless somebody is running around yelling "citizens arrest, citizens arrest". And of course there is the occassional sound of glass breaking when Ernest T. Bass is throwing bricks and rocks through windows. All I can think of for now, gotta get back to playin' and other stuff.

 

I miss Mayberry. I would be sitting on the porch drinking an ice cold Cherry Coke if I was there.

It's more restaurant than sports bar to me. I'm thinking in the mold of Buffalo Wild Wings. I wan the trivia games on the tv, the poker games on the tv, the video games, huge televisions with every sport represented. 1,000 beer selections and some good wings and burgers. Mallards isn't that big. I like Mallards but it's not that big. We have our money league fantasy football draft there every year.

Etown is rumored to get a Hooters. I'd prefer a B-Dubs but still, I CAN'T wait. Hoping they will stay open for UFC fights and weekday UK games. No bar in Etown gets UFC fights and I've had to leave at halftime many times during UK games...

It was always Bazooka gum out of the bin at the counter, and either a couple packs of cards or a chocolate shake at the local UDF.

Winchester Ky. Great location, 20 minute drive to Lexington, UK ball games, resturants, Doctors, hospitals and you have I-64 and I-75 right outside your door. Love the neighborhood I am in, lots of people walking, safe, well maintained, and great neighbors. I used to live in EKY, so the property taxes here were a shock.

 

I used to date a girl that lived in Winchester, so I've been many times. Winchester's a really nice place. Went to the Beer Cheese Festival several years ago; that's a great event.

I like the people in our area of Ashland. Good folks.

 

I dislike that our golf courses suck.

I've never understood why the golf courses are so terrible in Ashland. Luckily, WV and OH are a short drive.

 

I'm ok with the amount of restaurants. At 235 pounds, I'm not picky :thumb:
