Walker was limited after a vicious hit in the mid second quarter when trey wright flew in like a bullet (unouched of course)and took out his knees. He had to get stitches in his left knee and sufferered a strained right knee. He only touched the ball 3-4 times afterward and sat the rest if the game. 13-58 yards

 

Dawkins was his usual solid self. He slashes and churns and runs very hard. Two tds and 128 yards was about what I expected

Congrats to T. I didn't see the game, but listened to the first half-thought we had a chance. Too much firepower. At halftime, Mike said they had to keep T from scoring first possession-somewhat prophetic! Does Quick ever graduate? Seems like he has played for 10 years.

I like the GOLD uniforms; glad they broke them out for 2 straight games. It's tough when you get a lead and the Quick makes that TD catch and run right after going into halftime. Just like every lose or setback, you look at what went well and what areas need some attention and get back to work.

I'm sorry that the young man was hurt and I hope he has a full and speedy recovery.

I still don't think Dawson is 100% recovered from his ankle injury.

The play, in which Quick sprinted about 55 yards and dodged tacklers after catching a pass from Travis Wright, swung momentum after a St. X touchdown run by Austin Davis had given the Tigers a 7-6 lead with 6:03 to play in the first half.

One minute, 37 seconds later, the top-ranked Shamrocks (6-0) were up 13-7, and they piled on from there.

I hope he makes a full recovery. I liked what I saw of him.

I thought X might have a chance to turn this into a field position battle on the strength of their wonderful kicker/punter. But Trinity's offense was able to advance, even pinned inside the 20, on several occasions with multiple first-down plays. Quick's run was damaging, but Trinity's defense is flat-out demoralizing. And now that Trey Wright has returned, their front four can pin their ears back. Impressive win over a solid X team. Prayers for Charles Walker. Hate to see anyone hurt in this (or any) game.

The Litkenhous Ratings published in the Courier-Journal have X ranked 7th in the state for all classes. Is that about right? This was Trinity's first game against a Kentucky opponent so I personally have no other Ky. teams to compare them to. I would say though that they are certainly comparable to (if not quite at the level of) the previous teams on T's schedule (2 from TN, 2 from OH and 1 from IN).

Trinity is better than I thought, X is a good football team but time for a schematic change if we want to compete. I will still wear my X gear proud.

Side note, our kicking game is no good whatsoever.

Good post! I came away very impressed with #44 (always knew Walker was good). Forgive me though, I'm a little partial to Dawkins!

Kicking wasn't up the prior years' standards but is tolerable. Punting on the other hand was troubling. I was to far away to tell but was it poor form which caused the bad punts?

 

Until this is corrected, if the fourth down conversion is anywhere close, just go for it.
