Kerry Combs did a great job at the high school level at Colerain and is currently an assistant under Urban Myers at Ohio State. He would get the commonwealth energized about football and have a recruiting pipeline to Cincinnati. Coombs has been an average position coach at best so far at the college level. He can no doubt recruit, but hasn't even made it to a DC job yet...

Yesterday it was John Clay - "How did Joke let it get to this?" They seemed to soften this tone up in the online edition. Today it was "Joker will focus on the team, not talk". Obviously taken from the news conference. Lots of grumpy people around the Bluegrass area.

September 19, 201214 yr If you spend it they will come! Meaning spend the money. Pay someone 2 million and then spend the money on places the coach needs. Give the coach 5 years and by the end of 5 years decided if they have repaved the foundation that Brooks built. If so extend another 3 years and demand them to be fighting for 9 win seasons.
September 19, 201214 yr I look for Mitch to hit a homerun with his next hire, much like he did with the basketball hire. He has made some mistakes, but quickly erases those mistakes with big hires.
September 19, 201214 yr Gus Malzahn (sp?) he would be a great fit as well! Wasn't he the OC at Auburn? I think he is now the HC @ Arkansas State. I would suspect he would jump at the chance to get back into the SEC.
