What bothers me about Joker.

1. He hangs his hat on recruiting, but gets out recruited by Vandy which has worse facilities and tradition.

2. He hangs his hat on recruiting then says he just doesn't have the players he needs to win.

3. He hangs his hat on recruiting and thinks he should get a pass on on motivation, player development, game planning, and in game adjustments.

 

On points 2 and 3, do you have a link to anything where he has actually said either of those things, or is that your interpretation of what he says? I want Joker gone, like the rest of you, but lets not make up quotes as we go.

I'd be all for Petrino and I think he'd stay.

OK, "quote" was saying what I wanted to say the wrong way. I should have said "putting words in his mouth he did not say."

 

Nowhere in the last two post of yours did he say "he just doesn't have the players he needs to win." Nowhere in them does he indicate that he thinks he should get a any kind of pass for any reason. I listen to every news conference, have heard all of the excuses, and I've never heard him say either of those things. As far as the coaching clinics, I'll have to take your word for it.

 

To me, "I just don't have the players I need to win." and "I think I should get a pass (for any reason)." are extremely serious statements to make. If he did actually say those things, I'd hold his contract while you wielded the ax. Inferring that he is saying that is another matter, though. At least from my perspective.

 

You interpret what he says. I just hear what he says and take it at face value. Nothing wrong with either method, though it probably leaves me slow on the uptake, but my way helps keep me objective. I try to be objective when it comes to UK football or I'd drive myself crazy.

UK should go after Trinity's coach!

Mitch knows he needs to make a home run hire. Someone like Petrino or Leach would excite the fan base. If he makes a hire and UK doesn't improve and tickets continue to stay low, the Big Blue Nation might be calling for his job next.

 

I am part of the fan base & I would be sick if UK hired a low character piece of crap like Petrino! He makes me sick...for several reasons. How on Earth is hiring him a home run? His comments about UK and it's fans while he was at another KY university is enough to not give him a job as a bottle washer! He is a clown!
