As much as it pains me to say this, does it really matter?

 

We were trending up with Rich Brooks, so it would seem that yes the head football coach at UK matters.

 

I don't know where this program can top out, but I know it can be better than it is right now.

A guy I saw on the sidelines for the Redskins that would be intriguing is Rahim Morris. I always felt that his style of coaching would fit college better than the pros.

Maybe all UK fans should be rooting for the Seahawks to go into the cellar so the Pete Carroll becomes available?

The message boards seem to love Mark Mangino, former coach of Kansas as a choice. A name that nobody is thinking about that wouldn't be bad... Jeff Jagodzinski. He was fired at BC for interviewing for an NFL job but led them to a 20-8 record and two trips to the ACC title game in his 2 seasons.

Haha the only way UK get's better in football is if we can get Coach Cal to start offering his last scholarships to kids with friends that are big time football players.

Completly agree with the bolded and I think most if not all UK fans hoped Joker would succeed.

 

I've heard many others talk about UK Basketball keeps UK Football from being any good...how does it do that? Not being a smart alect just wondering how BB hurts FB...doesnt seem to hurt Florida in the reverse.

JMO, 5* football recruit comes in for a visit sees the Wildcat Coal Lodge then gets to see his dorm, gonna be a tough sell. Big time football players as well as big time coaches do not want to take a back seat to basketball and UK is one of the very few places in America where that happens.

Why do you say people don't get that? I don't know many people (that are UK fans) that wanted to see Joker fail from the start. But he has failed, and now we want him replaced.

 

Joker is a great guy, and it would have been awesome if he could have maintained UK at the level he inherited it at. He hasn't. He's gone the opposite direction, and done it alarmingly fast.

They might need to take a chance on a great coach. Kerry Combs did a great job at the high school level at Colerain and is currently an assistant under Urban Myers at Ohio State. He would get the commonwealth energized about football and have a recruiting pipeline to Cincinnati.

So patient fans would have made a difference how? The program has collapsed incredibly fast since he took over.

Neither one of the Grudens are coming to college football to coach UK, IMO. If Jay comes, it is for a more high profile job. Big brother is staying in the MNF booth, otherwise, he would have taken a gig already, IMO.

Charlie Strong may be the new HC at Arkansas next year.

Gus Malzahn (sp?) he would be a great fit as well!
