Coach Longacre is first class and they have a great tourney. It's a privilege to be asked to play in it. The top teams in the state are typically invited. Maybe that's why NKY guys don't know much about it. (sorry, couldn't resist:p)

Ahh, and there you have it.

And there you have it.

Moving it to Valley would have to be done over the cold, dead bodies of Stan Hardin and Lloyd Gardner.

I was wondering who created the state rankings.

I'm shocked that any HS sports fan had NOT hear of the King of the Bluegrass. Here, go educate yourselves:

King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic | Fairdale, KY

Honestly, I think a lot of what spindoc said is true...NKY schools don't make it in, so we're not quite so familiar (especially if we're bigger football/baseball guys). I just glanced through most of the pages in the "History" section of the website, and I think the northernmost school that made mention in there was Mason County back in 2002 on the All-Tournament Team list.

Yes it is. GRC played in it a few years ago. They have really good french fries too.....:D

Not sure what everyone considers NKY but in the last few years Cov. Holmes, Boone Co., and Dixie Heights have participated in KOB

Those are. Holmes is about as NKY as you can get. They all are NKY schools - I just hadn't heard about them being in the tournament.

Same here, I knew about this when I was in grade school.
