I don't think anyone but you mentioned anything about a "level", but I doubt any T fans think beating Highlands in a scrimmage or being on the field competing with them is a slap in the face. I don't know how many teams in KY would agree to play or scrimmage T, but the Birds do so to get better.

There may be a big difference in the teams right now. If you recall a couple of years ago the game was pretty close. To say there is a huge disparity in the programs is a bit reaching I think.

Using a horse racing analogy this game for Highlands is like starting your first race of the year in the Kentucky Derby. There is a significant drop in class in races they'll run in after the Trinity game. Horses dropping in class generally do pretty well.

To add to your post....I find it incredibly ironic that people will say Trinity is playing at a different level than Highlands and some Highlands fans take offense but it is fine when they claim to be playing at a different level than the rest of the state. I love irony.

It would be ironic if the same fans taking offense were the ones making such a claim about other teams. With me that is not the case, never have I posted that Highlands was on a diff level...

 

Hey Heartbreaker how did things go last time the Birds visited Whitley Co.?

Unfortunately, I will be working at the St. Joseph Orphans' Home Picnic and will not be able to attend. At the Green-White scrimmage, I thought T looked a little ragged on offense, although it was hard to tell who was who and which team (1,2 or 3) they were going against. I thought T's D played well, though, and seemed to have no aversion to hitting and being physical. T will miss D lineman Pat Barry (who I think is playing at Murray) but if Hatcher plays consistently, then I hope they will be OK. It looked like back-up QB Reggie Bonnafin (sp) was playing at tight end and T had soph RB Don Brooks playing in the slot some as well as carrying the ball. I think T will be a very fast team this year. Depending on how much experience HHS has coming back, this could be a very good scrimmage. By no means do I see any kind of blow out. (I do know Towles will be hard to replace, though.) I think T's D will have to carry the Shamrocks for a while until the O gets fine-tuned. Admittedly, T has some weapons on O if they can get untracked. I imagine HHS does, too.
