April 21, 201313 yr Heading to Myrtle Beach in June, any nice courses down there I should try out? Only about a 100. Really there are lots of them. Just look them up, I have played 20 or so. The hardest I've played is Ocean Harbor, the easiest, although challenging, is Sandpiper. There's Oyster Bay, Heathland, Parkland, Marsh Harbor, Sea Trails, Lion's Paw, and many more, they all are great! I'm an 18 hdc and I could play them all without being overwhelmed. You will love it.
April 22, 201313 yr Played on the course I grew up on today (Cynthiana CC). Definitely a course you have to have some local knowledge. The greens were in awesome shape and the Bermuda is starting to come in. I shot 70 (-2) thanks to playing the Par 5's well (-5). Hopefully everyone got out and enjoyed the great weather today!

April 22, 201313 yr Got out and played today unexpectedly. My golf swing needs a lot of work but my chipping and putting is really coming along. Chipping I some times struggle with directional control but putting is getting a lot better. Sunk a 36 footer on #10 of Pioneer at Kenton County. Teed off at 11 and it was awesome. Also got a nice bit of sun.
April 23, 201313 yr Went to the driving range Sunday. Hit almost 3/4 of a bucket with my driver, because that's where I struggle the most. Can't get rid of the slice. I'll hit two or three nice ones, and then 10 bad ones. Not to mention, worked a nice blister on my left index finger. :irked: Gotta get a glove.

Try this (if you are right-handed): Put down two clubs with your target in the middle of them. Take your stance parallel to the clubs, then sightly close your stance. You will feel like you are going to slice it even more, but if your swing is ok, you should hit it pretty good. Also make sure your right elbow isn't "flying" with you get to the top of your back swing. Try to keep that elbow as close to your body as you can. If that doesn't work, take 2 weeks off the game then quit.
April 23, 201313 yr Thinking I'm going to join the GolfWeek Amateur Tour (Cincinnati) this year. It's flighted so I hopefully won't be too overmatched. Looking forward to playing in a tournament type setting.

If that doesn't work, take 2 weeks off the game then quit. I'm not sure I exactly understand what you mean when it comes to the bolded. I've watched a couple YouTube videos on driving, and this is what I came away with: -Put the ball even with (or close to) your front shoulder. Which would be my left. -Tilt my back (right) shoulder down a little. -Widen my stance to a little past shoulder width. I don't even know if I'm lining up the right way to begin with, in terms of how far I am from the ball. I've just been lining it up with my front foot, and extending my arms to the ball, without bending over. Sometimes (probably every 10 balls or so), I'll hit one so bad it will actually hit the wall in my "stall." Makes me want to throw my club. :lol2:
April 23, 201313 yr Author Played horrible today. Not to mention I had two guys in front of me and one would two shot anything within chipping distance. Added about another 5-7 minutes for every hole. Killed me.

In struggling with every club except my #4, PW and putter.
April 23, 201313 yr I feel your pain. In struggling with every club except my #4, PW and putter. For some reason, I have always been really good with my PW too. No idea why. Just get lucky I guess.
April 23, 201313 yr Author I tend to slice my ball to the right off my tee shot. I have been doing better putting, and my iron game is improving. I had some nice hits using my TaylorMade hybrid rescue.
