Got out and played today and started out better than I think I ever have. However I shot a bucket of balls before I started and by about the 8th hole I was spent. On the back 9 I was getting an ours because the two guys in front of me were taking forever and I was starting to play like crap. Throw in the guy on my heels that was parring or bogeying every hole and by the 15th I was spent. I pulled a Happy Gilmore and just took my ball and went home. I'd had enough for the day.

Couple of hours to NKY.

 

You need to come up and play with me at Highland Country Club as well. Lets plan on it this summer. My treat.

Shot a 45 today and the weather and course were both outstanding. I scrambled to make bogeys because of the errant shots. The wind today made it difficult for me to club correctly. Oh well my handicap does not fluctuate.

So on the 14th hole It was a par 4 about 270 yards from where I teed off from. I pulled out the driver and lined up my shot. The way the course was set up was almost in a backwards 7.Teeing off at the bottom of the 7 and then it turns right and the cup is at the end. Well I decided to go for it and angled my drive to skip the fairway and go over the out of bounds area and see if I could clear the shot to the green. Sure enough I did and I knocked the ball past the cup about 285 yards. I still bogeyed the hole though, stupid chipping. That was the highlight of my day though.

 

 

I will say though that after I watched the video on fixing my driver swing (bad slice to the right) and I implemented that into my swing today I am teeing off 100x better than i did before. Much straighter and some pretty good distance at times.

 

 

Also teed off using my TaylorMade 2H club and killed the ball many times.

Last night I bought 50 Top Flite for around the same price. I also got 100 shag golf balls for $15 and free shipping.

Calloway SW for sale....graphite shaft remarkably unbroken. The SW went rogue on me Tuesday night, so needs someone experienced in training wedges. (It had nothing to do with the operator.)

Plan on going Saturday as long as it doesn't rain. Found a couple of videos on tips to limit the slicing of the ball. Gonna try out the grip turn first.

 

 

 

 

Here is the grip I started using and seen almost immediate improvements.

 

Instead of having your left hand with your thumb resting on top of the club you turn turn hand to where your left thumb is on the inner side of it. Keeps the club more square and less slice.

Quick fix, but doesn't stop your body/arms from the "slicing" action.

 

2 hints for stopping the slicing action:

1. Let your hands, not your hips/lower body start your downswing

2. Try to keep you right elbow (if you're right handed) as close to your body as possible as you come down from the top of your backswing.

I fixed my slice by backing farther from the ball. My partner told me to try it. Now I can't fade one if I tried.
