Yeah, I mean I know my swing isn't perfect but after watching Charles Barkeley swing a golf club I figure at least there is one more person that has a worse looking swing than me. The turning of my hand seems to have fixed my slicing, now I know I still have to tweak other parts of my swing to get it closer to perfect but it'll do for now. I definitely need to work on my chipping though.

Let the club do the work. Don't try to help the ball up into the air, the loft of the club will do that for you. In the last 5-6 years, I've become a big fan of the bump and run around the green if the shot allows me to do so. I like to take an 8 iron and almost treat it like a putt. I've had fewer chunks and blades since going to this method.

Heard Phil tell Coach Beamer at the Greenbrier this summer that most of the time it's best to "get it on the green as soon as possible and let it run".

May 17, 201313 yr PW, don't have a LW or SW. Don't try to get the ball in the air if you don't need to. Use a 7 or 8 iron with a putting stroke and bump it on the green. Takes a little getting used to but much less room for error.

May 17, 201313 yr I'll try that. Thanks! No problem. I'm by no means a pro, I actually just started playing a couple years ago. I did the same thing you were doing. Trying to loft the ball right at the cup and instead hitying line drives to the other side of the green :lol2:
May 20, 201313 yr Played at Wasioto Winds for the first time yesterday. Very interesting golf course. It wasn't in very good shape at all. Fairways were full of Poa Annua. I shot 46-36. Took me awhile to get loose.
May 20, 201313 yr Author Was gonna play today but rain killed that idea. So I ordered some golf balls on EBay. The Item description read "50 Top Flite Golf Balls + Bonus Tees & Markers. I paid $15.00 with free shipping. Note: These are used but supposed to be in good condition. I get the box in today and I actually got 164 golf balls (108 various brands + 56 various models of Top Flite golf balls), 15 long tees, and 2 ball markers. All were in pretty good shape. Very playable balls.
May 23, 201313 yr Where's the best place to look to buy used clubs? Been to Ebay and CL Any others? Not sure where you live, but Golf Exchange has some good stuff. There's one in Florence and a new one in Lexington. If you go to the one in Lexington, ask for Bart.
