Got out yesterday at Wild Turkey Trace in Lawrenceburg' date=' my "home" course. Sun was out but was only about 50 deg when I started about 5:20 or so, got cooler as it went on, cool wind blowing as well, probably steady 10-12 mph. Course is still in winter like condition, fairways have yet to come in (burmuda), greens shaggy and slow, rough was thick but mowed down to a managable condition, typical conditions for this time of year with the weather still cool and lots of rain. Played 9 holes, shot a 45...I'll take it with the conditions and only having gotten out to play a couple of times so far because of the weather. Actually hit a handfull of nice short iron approach shots, couple of knock down shots into the wind. Missed two makeable par putts so score could have easily been a 43. Supposed to be nice this weekend, so hopefully I will be out somewhere playing Saturday...where ever Golfnow takes me...haha.[/quote']

Wow, have you ever had one of those days where everything you do turns to crap on the golf course? I am normally very good off the tee. With everything. Today, I couldn't stick my thumb in my butt without slicing, hooking, topping or just plain skulling it. I swear it was the yips, the scours, something. And it didn't go away. I'm ready for bed so I can wake up and it be tomorrow. I didn't even putt it well. Chunked my short irons. Yikes.

Where can I find good deals in new iron sets?

Today was one of those days I wondered why I play. I parred 4 holes, the rest were AWFUL.

 

What was worse was my 14yo. shot 79.

The Willows today wasn't in bad condition shot a 43 on the back. Just couldn't read the greens today. They were inconsistent.

Heck yea, GolfNow has absolutely spoiled me, to the point of where I won't usually go play if I can't find a tee time that works for me on there, other than getting a quick 9 on my home course.

Went outside to hit some balls in the backyard and after about 5-10 minutes I started feeling pretty good....Just reminds me that it's all about routine though...Don't do it long enough and your swing definitely gets rusty.

 

Just being out in the yard, with this weather, makes me even more excited about tomorrow.

The sand, and holes probably played a role in that.

Playing tomorrow here at home and then headed toward Augusta early Sunday morning! Stopping in Newberry, SC for 18 before heading on over to Augusta.

How is Golfnow for resorts and etc...
