Played 9 holes at Raven Rock today, my iron game has improved a lot for some reason and I've not played in about a month. Sad thing is that my driver now sucks. Got a couple of pars, almost got a birdie. Maybe next time. Haha

Played last week and I putted pretty well two putting most everything that wasn't within 10 feet but I couldn't hit the ball straight to save my life. Shot HORRIBLE.

I'm wanting to get my 7 year-old niece out on the course this week. I need some clubs for her though. Checked at all the major spots for a junior set, but they were way more than I wanted to spend. Does anyone have a very basic junior set collecting dust that they're willing to sell cheap???

Went to KY Golf Superstore today and bought myself some new golf shoes and a TaylorMade rescue club. I'm stoked to use it next week.

I had my second close call of the summer a couple of weeks ago came within 6 inches of a hole in one on a 155 yrd. par 3 and Sunday came up 2 inches short of an eagle from 165 yrds. out, close but no cigar but I guess if you keep knocking on the door one of these days it happens.

I'm getting word that there will soon be a Golf Exchange in Lexington. It would open around Christmas and would be located over by Hooter's on Richmond Rd. I know the one in the NKY area has been a success and I'm sure this one will be as well.

I got an email last week informing me that my name had been selected for tickets to Mondays practice round of The Masters!! I'm already planning my trip! It's such an awesome place!

That is very cool. Should be fun.

I played Hidden Cove at Grayson Lake Sunday. It's absolutely TERRIBLE right now. The fairways are fried, the greens had been plugged and sanded and the rough was 90% crabgrass. I was really disappointed.

I shot 41 on the front and 33 on the back. It took me a while to get the speed of the greens down.

I really like mine. I'm a short hitter; this one works well for me in the 160 yard range.

Had my best round of the season last week. The guys I play with are old-timers so we play from the senior tees (even though I'm not a senior I always feel like one; that has to count for something). Shot 76 at Laurel Oaks from the oldster tees. Two putt-ins from off the green saved the round.

I also had my best round of the year a few weeks ago. 80 at Hickory Sticks with a double bogey 7 on 17. It's been a while since I was in the 70's and I was extremely mad at myself for messing up that chance.

I had been playing pretty well the last two weeks also. Finally got the RBZ 3 wood to match my RBZ 5, and man does that thing rip. I have been hitting it consistently 260+ off the tee and it has really helped my score. Driving distance off the tee used to always be my kryptonite because I never was good with a driver. Now though I am able to do something with that 3 wood and my game has really started to take shape.

 

 

 

Represented the company with three other guys in a foresome yesterday in a United Way charity golf event. We got 5 or 6 holes in dry, then we just got hammered with rain until we finished. On the brightside we got to eat a nice free steak dinner afterwards, and have all you could drink brewskies the whole day. I don't drink much at all anymore, only rarely will I have a drink. Yesterday though I made the decision early (after a poor start to our team) that I was just going to drink some beer. :lol:

 

It was still a great time though and we helped raise a lot of money for charity.
