Does anyone actually believe that people will see the Obama ad and say, "oh yeah, he did kill ObL. I'm going to vote for Obama now."

People's minds are made up. Let's vote tomorrow.

That's not the point of what the Obama campaign is trying to do, they're trying to make people think Romney wouldn't have given the order. Are there people that will buy into that? Of course.

No, he didn't score, the military (specifically the Navy Seals) did. He just sent in the play that was drawn up for him, which he deserves credit for.
Bush Jr. did the same with Saddam Hussein

Huge difference between OBL and Hussein. We declared war against Iraq before we invaded Iraq to get Hussein. We did not declare war against Pakinstan before we violated their sovereign rights to get OBL.

How would you feel is China, Russia, Britian, etc. sent a military squad on to continental US soil to capture/kill an enemy of their's? My guess is the whole country would be up in arms (and would have been justified in doing so). I'm amazed more people don't look at the violation of Pakistan's sovereignity as critically or seriously as I do.

And you are a hundred percent right on the sovereignity issue.

The world is changing though and countries aren't as important as they used to be in my opinion. Groups, factions, whatever move about and that is why I can't comprehend the President commiting us to 10 plus more years in Afgahnistan with their corrupt leader.

That's a twist on the old "he did it too excuse". Now it's the "he would have done it too excuse".

Thing about that is, he already did.

They had a great "Republican selective amnesia" piece on The Daily Show last night.

On meet the press this Sunday in an interview with Robert Gibbs, they showed a clip of one of President's Obama's advisers from 2008.

Anyone got the clip or know where to find it? It deals directly with this.

The point here is, that 3 years ago, Obama said that (EIT"S) were torture. Obama said he would eliminate these tactics. Had it not been for these tactics, we would not have got the intell we needed to capture the man that led us to OBL. It took 2 weeks of proding Obama that the window of opportunity was vanishing, before he FINALLY relented and gane the order to proceed. And then after OBL was killed, Obama said he would not (spike the ball) as in a victory celebration. NOW,,,,,,, as he has NOTHING positve to run on, he is (spiknig the ball)

You got a single link to prove any of those assertions? My understanding was that he had many advisers telling him not to do it AND lots of them were saying to simply drop a smart bomb on the compound. You guys act like that with the right intelligence that anyone would have made the call, however, anyone making the call would have to reflect on the last time a similar call was made . . . say 1979?? and what happened when that went poorly.

Thing about that is, he already did.

I thought in a prior post a while back you were against the "he did it too defense"? Is it ok now?

I know. Just saying that I don't think there are enough people who haven't made up their minds about the candidates to where any of their ads will make a true difference in the results. I believe people are certain who they will vote for already. Those that are on the fence won't be swayed by an ad they see or hear, IMO.

Well let's just get super technical. You know the point I was attempting to make.

I say again, any sitting president with brains enough to tie their own show would have given the order. That doesn't mean it was an easy decision or that Obama doesn't deserve any credit.

I agree to an extent. However, it never ceases to amaze me what some will use a s a deciding factor to vote for a candidate.

Sorry, but too many people act as if Obama himself was a member of the Seal Team and pulled the trigger himself. I know you don't think that way, but many give way too much credit and I find that offensive to our military. Spiking the football (especially for political gain), as it was put, cheapens a great accomplishment of our fine military personnel IMO.

Me either.
