Nice win for Newport. East Carter was not able to do anything on offense in the first half and the 18 - 0 deficit was too big to overcome.

The first score was a Hesch 60 yard keeper. It looked like a regular option to me. The second score was a long pass that the safety gambled on and couldn't make a play on the ball. The score right before halftime was a dropped snap that Hesch was able to get to the outside on a 10 yard td when the end for EC crashed down.

where is the closest hotel at Newport. Looking for about 2000 fans coming down this week and need to plan early.

Good job Newport, but of course we wanted EAST to win so we could stay home. East is tough and we loved that they gave you guys a good game. Russell has alot of respect for teams in our district. We rooooot for all of them except when we play them.

It was 32-0 early in the fourth. Then subs came in and then EC got some points. Until then Newport completely shut EC down on Offense.

There is a comfort Inn right down the street from the stadium in Bellevue that would be real close for you guys to stay at. Actually from here to Florence there is plenty of places to choose from. Bring all the devil fans on up, it will make for a great atmosphere for the regional final.
