All State Baseball
1.Elliott County (15-2): Elliott County suffered their 2nd loss on the season and had their 9 game win streak snapped when they fell to Paris 67-58 in the first round of the KHSAA All “A” State Tournament. The Important thing is, the Lions are still perfect in region play, 9-0 in region play and 6-0 in district play. 2.Boyd County (16-4): The Lions have ran their win streak to 6 straight. During that stretch, the Lions have demolished their opponents, winning those games by no less than 13 points. Can Boyd keep this up? 3.Greenup County (15-6): Greenup County picked up two wins last week defeating Bath County and Russell. The Musketeers remain perfect in district play, standing at 4-0. Greenup County has two remaining district games with Raceland left. 4.West Carter (15-5): The Comets are hot at the right time, having won 3 straight and 7 of their last 8 games. 2 of those wins came last week in a big way, the Comets started the week off defeating #5 Rowan County 62-57 then defeating Raceland 64-56. Can West Carter keep this surge up as we head into post season here in a few weeks? 5.Rowan County (15-6): After falling to West Carter 62-57 last week, the Vikings bounced back and bounced back in a big way, cruising past 10th region’s Mason County 92-75. Rowan County was led in scoring by senior guard Michael Antrobus who had 29 points including 7 3 pointers. SO guard DeSean Woods (former Morehead State head coach, Sean Woods’ son) added 21 points including 4 3 pointers in the win. 6.Ashland (9-13): After starting the season off horendosuly, the Tomcats have came on strong as of late, winning 2 straight and having won 6 of their last 7 games. Can the Tomcats keep up this momentum? 7.Bath County (10-12): Bath County has been struggling as of late, losing 3 of their last 5 games with 2 of those losses coming to region opponents Greenup County who thumped the Wildcats 81-56 and to Morgan County who squeaked out a 4 point win 65-61 to revenge an earlier defeat to the Wildcats. 8.Russell (11-14): Russell has been played decent as of late, winning 2 out of their last 3 games. The lone loss……was a 4 point loss to Greenup County, the #3 team in the region. The Red Devils have just one game this week, as they travel to Lewis County to take on the Lions. 9.East Carter (10-12): The Raiders have hit another rough spot, losing 3 straight and having lost 5 of their last 8 games. Two of the losses, the Raiders took #6 Ashland and #4 West Carter into overtimes. West Carter went into double OT. 10.Fairview (8-12): Fairview seems to be playing better as of late than what they had been. The Eagles have now won 3 out of their last 4 games with wins over Lewis County and Fleming County. 11.Lewis County (5-16): The Lions are still having trouble putting together multiple back to back wins. 12.Morgan County (8-15): Morgan County woes continue, losing 4 straight and 6 of their last 8 games. 13.Fleming County (6-18): Fleming County finally put an end to that 7 game skid streak when they defeated Menifee County 65-50 back on January 20th but have since, took to a pattern type way, win loss, win loss. 14.Raceland (7-14): The Rams are starting to play a tad bit better than what they had been, having won 2 straight and 3 of their last 5 games. 15.Rose Hill Christian (9-15): The Royals had the week off last week so nothing new has changed with them. 16.Menifee County (4-16): The Wildcats lost 2 out of their 3 games last week but they did snap their 8 game losing streak when they defeated St. Patrick, the bad news? They started another loss streak when they fell to Raceland 74-64.

X`s and O`s
I don't think you have really looked at Greenups`s numbers . I`m a fan of the players for one, but GC only has 2 wins VS teams with winning record West Carter and L-Ville Eastern. So of the now 16 wins , 14 are 500 or Below. Of the 6 looses , 5 of them came from teams with winning records , other was East Carter. Can GC win games yes. Can they win the Region ? 3rd is way to high to rank them . Than put in the lack of coaching and drop a few more. I would say GC is #6 or #7 but could beat a higher team. Another season Coaching has hurt, what could be a team that could make a run at the Region. more wasted years with Tackett , I guess Kidwell coming last season was enough to get him over 500.
