All State Baseball
1.Greenup County (10-3): The Musketeers are rolling as we head into the new year. Greenup County has won 7 of their last 8 games (5 straight) including, their own home tournament, Stultz Pharmacy Classic, where they picked up wins over Allen Central, Bishop Brossart and West Carter. One thing is for sure, Greenup County continues putting these type’s of results up, they’ll be cutting down the nets heading into the state tournament. 2.Boyd County (9-3): Despite beating #1 Greenup County earlier in the season, the Lions dropped 2 of their 3 games in the Ashland Invitational tournament this past week. Losing by 10 to Owensboro Catholic and the host school, Ashland. The Lions did pick up a 65-61 win over Bracken County in the tournament. Since starting the season 6-0, the Lions have gone 3-3 since. 3.Rowan County (9-4): After starting the season off 3-3 (win-lose-win-lose-win-lose) the Vikings have gotten things turned in the right direction, winning 7 of their last 8, had an 6 game win streak before falling to Parkview GA 56-46 in the Sunshine Classic @ Daytona Beach. 4.Elliott County (8-1): Elliott County picked up their first loss on the season and ended their 6 game win streak Tuesday when they fell to Ravenwood TN in the King of the Smokies down in Pigeon Forge TN. The Lions would pick back up where they left off before they got defeated with 2 straight wins to take 2 out of 3 from the Kings of the Smokies tournament. The Lions defeated Heritage Christian Academy GA 66-56 and Creekview GA 56-51. 5.West Carter (8-3): Once ranked the top team in the region down to the #5 team in the region. The Comets have gone 3-3 since starting the season 5-0. The Comets took 2 out of 3 in the Stultz Pharmacy Classic @ Greenup County this past week, defeating Anderson County 65-44, cross-town rival, East Carter 69-61 before falling to the host team, Greenup County 74-65. 6.Russell (7-7): The Red Devils ended 2016 on a bad note, losing 4 of their last 6 games before the new year rang in. That was after the Devils had started the season off 5-3 before falling to 2-4 pushing their total to 7-7. Can Russell get things turned around as the season winds down? 7.Bath County (6-7): The Wildcats continue to struggle, finding grooves or a groove to start piling up W’s. Bath County has lost 4 of it’s last 6 games. Bath County has a chance to win nearly every game in January or at least start 6-0 before facing Greenup County on January 23rd. During that stretch, the Wildcats will face; Fleming County twice, East Carter, Nicholas County, Morgan County and Menifee County. 8.Ashland (3-8): Despite being 3-8 and having lost 8 straight before picking up 2 straight wins, the Tomcats do own a big victory over #2 Boyd County, which was in the Ashland Invitational. These two teams will hook up once again, this coming Tuesday night in Boyd County. Will the Lions get some revenge or will the Tomcats make it 3 straight wins with 2 of them being over the Boyd County Lions? 9.East Carter (6-7): Although East Carter picked up 2 wins in the Stultz Pharmacy Classic @ Greenup County and was 9 points away from going 3-0 in the tourney, they continue to struggle putting multiple back to back wins on the board. Can the Raiders get started off on the right foot in 2017 or will the struggle continue? 10.Morgan County (4-9): The Cougars have had a rough season so far, started the season off 1-8 as they hit Dec. 21st game against Louisville Shawnee but have since gone 3-2. Will this be the start of improvement or will it just be fools gold? 11.Lewis County (2-11): The Lions have dropped 5 straight contest. 4 of those 5 losses have been by double digits. 12.Fairview (3-8): The Eagles had Christmas off and will return to action Tuesday @ Morgan County. Can they start the new year off with a W or will they be slammed with another loss? 13.Fleming County (3-9): The Panthers dropped all 3 games in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic @ Belfry this past week. 14.Menifee County (3-8): The Wildcats defeated St. Patrick last Wednesday to snap their 7 game skid streak but turned around and dropped a 71-69 heart breaking loss to Lee County. 15.Raceland (2-10): The Rams dropped two straight last week, both to out of state opponents; Coal Grove 41-39 and Sciotoville Community East OH 66-58. 16.Rose Hill Christian (9-8): Despite winning 9 games and being 9-8, the Royals are 1-2 against region opponents this season. Ballstothewalls
Well, from what I was told by an EC grand father all three teams they played in the King of the smokies would smoke anyone in the 14th that's for sure! Their best wins so far in Ky is Magoffin Co., and Bracken Co

Bball Legend
While I will disagree with the top 4 spots, teams 5 thru 16 look about right. Me personally I would have Elliott, Greenup, Rowan and Boyd. Just based on how they have performed so far anyway.
Ballstothewalls
I would agree with maybe flip flopping Rowan and Boyd! Have not seen Greenup in person this year, and West is really close to the top 4...... They beat Rowan in the Head to Head at Rowan! Good call Bballledgend

3/2 zone
Elliot clearly number 1 right now. Boyd has the talent but looks like there is turmoil within team. Greenup has the tools but I'm not sure they realize it. West has no point guard. You will only be as good as your guards
