BlueColonel87
In a complete team effort, the Colonels edged the Knights from Lexington Catholic by one point to bring home the Championship. In the process, the Colonels set new school records in the 4x100m and 4x200m relays. Congratulations to the Colonels.
ColonelCrazy
Impressive -- how do the school records compare to the state record?
BlueColonel87
Not sure how the times compare to the state record. Don't really know where to go look for that information. I do know that they are seeded 1st in the 4x100 and 2nd in the 4x200 by a few 1/100 seconds. Should a be a good race. Hope neither team false starts or has a problem with handoffs. Would like to see an exciting finish and of course Lee McClure crossing the line for the Colonels 1st. Go Colonels.
kinglouie
Congrats to the team! Way to get the region again. Hating seeing them falter those few years after so many years of taking region. Let's hope Central does not pull a fast one at state like they did a few years back when we were seeded first in the 4x100. They threw four guys together who had never ran it, and beat us by a bit. At least we won state that year! Good luck to all the Colonels at State!

Our team does it every year. Scoring at region and at state is much different, and you place runners in events that best allows you to win region and state. It is very commen for teams to come in 2nd or 3rd in region and then do better than the teams that beat them at state. Good example would be Highlands boys this year. They came in 3rd at region but are one of favorites to win state. You win region by having large number of athletes scoring points, but it is easier to win state with a couple of really good athletes winning events and scoring points. Oh I understand that perfectly. There was nothing wrong with what Central did - it was just surprising that the four who ran had not run it in a single meet all year. Like I said, congrats to them for it. I was just mentioning it so that the colonel fans who may not be aware of the practice were not surprised if it happened again this year!
