Josh Hamm named as Pendleton County head coach

Pendleton county got their man, that's for sure. He's a knowledgable coach that will take the necessary steps to make Pendleton county a serious contender, starting with their little league program, which is in bad shape. Pendleton should be thrilled with this hire.

Great choice and hire. Looking for good things from the Wildcats with a good coach and some youngsters coming up that left the Pendleton recreational baseball league and have been playing in NKY for several years either, Knothole, Little League, Cal Ripken or a fall ball combination.

How many kids actually play in the Pendleton County Youth Leagues? Do they have T-Ball, Coach Pitch and Little League and if so, how many teams in each age group? It sounds as if many of the kids play and travel which can be good as long as they don't get burned out or their arms ruined before they get to high school. I saw a coach pitch his assistant coaches son with a broken bone in his hand at 12 which helped him win the league, but by all-stars he couldn't even throw the ball from 1st base to homeplate. At 11 and 12 he was a great pitching prospect and he never was able to pitch. So sad that winning the league was so important to the coaches that this kids future career was over at age 12.
