All Play No Work
Cincy St. X in a rematch with Colerain at 6 PM at PBS. St. X won 7-0 in the first game of the year for these teams picking off 3 of the 4 passes that Colerain attempted. Colerain has certainly developed offensively since then, but St. X has had impressive victories against an absolutely killer schedule. See the USA Today article below for a preview. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/preps/football/2005-11-10-notes_x.htm In other Ohio playoff action Indian Hill's season came to an end last night. Wildcat
It's been a long season since they played. Very true: X has played a very demanding schedule, whereas it could be argued the only team that moderately tested Colerain was Tyler Lee, TX. What effect will that have? Mr. No Name
Are the defenses truely this good?
Wildcat
Are the defenses truely this good? X won the 1st game 7-0 after scoring on about a 30 yd. drive after a Colerain fumble. Colerain had about 140 yards of total offense; 0 passing. X didn't have much more. Colerain ILB-Mixon-committed to Michigan, OLB-Moeller-committed to Ohio St. X-DE-?-committed to Boston College Both defenses are big enough 200-220 on front 7, very athletic, drilled in reading the opponent's offense, and can defend the pass very well. X is a little bigger on defense, Colerain is a little faster. The other dimension is- because their defenses are so dominant, the offenses are a bit conservative; they don't take risks and they value gaining 40+ yards of field position by punting the football. X has a small, very savvy, very quick, very accurate QB, 2 small but very good RBs. Colerain runs the option with 4 speed burners, and doesn't throw it very effectively vs. good defenses that can rush the passer and cover.
