RYAN, I live in Lawrence County and have been a BGP member on and off for MANY years. I for one can say that starting another place to chat that is free sounds like a good idea until you actually try it. You quickly realize that the $20 fee on here is MORE than worth the quality of the site and more importantly the MASSIVE amounts of knowledge that is floating around here. This site has the guys and gals that are the most knowledgeable, mature (usually) and fun to converse with. This site may not give you the constant talking talking about JC that you are after but as you have already heard from others, that's only the JC fans fault. So go forth and spread the word about this site. I think you'll find that a little over $1.50 per month is WELL worth what your getting here. P.S. As a Lawrence County fan I would love to bad mouth JC, but unfortunately the others on here would quickly point out that they whipped our butt last time we played so for now I won't say a bad word about them.

Has anyone got an update on the QB injury? I hope this young man is ok.. He seems like a real nice guy and really seems to love the game.

Sheldon Clark has contacted Lawrence about moving the game if the field isn't ready. I know this for a fact. I also know that Lawrence County is ok with moving it to Lawrence, however I don't know if it's a final decision as of yet? I'm taking LC 21 to SC 14. Should be a real test for both schoold though. If Chandler plays or not really makes a difference to this game. No offense to the freshman QB who actually performed well and looks like he will be a good one with some experience.

While these numbers are great, West had more yards by himself than these two combined.... That doesn't mean they weren't great, but I think even you'd agree that they don't really compare as far as stats? Remember that Parker averaged over 1,100 yards recieving for 4 years. West had close to 3,000 yards rushing in 1 season. Remember NOBODY is saying that either of these guys is "THE MOST TALENTED" ever at their position, what I'm trying to say is that nobody was more productive.

Yeah I thought about adding the numbers from the QB (Jason Michaels) but that would just open up a can of worms that I just don't have enough knowledge to debate? Michaels however does have 510 career points which puts him in the top 20 all-time in KY. I guess that does make it a difficult threesome to argue against?

I made a statement in another thread that Mike West and Jarrod Parker were without question the best RB/WR tandem to ever play together, but I was wrong to state that without doing my research... So here's your chance to prove me wrong (and do my research for me). The only criteria is that they obviously had to play together as starters 1 season. Total career yards 12,461 West had 7,725 (rushing) Parker had 4,736 (recieving) I didn't have data on west recieving yards or Parkers rushing yards? Touchdowns for career West had 93 Parker had 52 The season they played together the team had the second highest scoring average per game ever (behind the 1930 Ashland Blazer team) 54.8 ppg I have been proven wrong on this site more times than I care to count, but I believe that I may be safe on this one? Probably shouldn't have said that.

Two games come to mind from an EKY standpoint. 91 or 92 ? Lawrence County over Breathitt stopping Breathitts games won streak at ? 48 ? someone help me with that number please. I don't know who else in Eastern Ky could have stopped them at that time? Highlands 99 played a Lawrence County team that had the most potent running back reciever tandem in the history of KY (PLEASE ARGUE WITH ME ON THAT ONE!!! I DARE YOU!!!) Of course Highlands kicked the stuffing out of them, because as all Lawrence county fans learned, you can't outscore a team that scores on every posession! That Highlands team was one of if not the greatest team in the history of KY football in my opinion.

Just some basic background here. Billy Goldsmith is one of the finest men and coaches that I have ever met. I had him as a teacher, track coach and football coach. He has coached an undefeated football team and some state finalists in track and field. His coaching credentials are VERY legit and he does NOT need his son as bait to get him a job anywhere! He played college ball at Moorehead State and was a legitimate NFL prospect. His weight room knowledge and work ethic are evident by lifting competition trophies that my brother and many others earned while he coached them. In short he is one of the toughest most intense coaches I was ever around, but ALWAYS fair and good to his players. Boone Goldsmith is an incredibly gifted athlete, but just didn't get it done at Lawrence County. I don't know what the problem was really. I wouldn't go as far as to say that he'd be the starter at any school in KY, but I'd say most would be willing to put him in the competition for the starting job. So did Goldsmith get treated differently than any other athlete transferring? I'd say from what I know of his dad that he followed the rules of the khsaa to the letter and was therefore treated exactly as he would expect to be treated when you follow the rules.. Just an opinion from my very limited knowledge.

You've all missed the the MOST IMPORTANT detail of the video!!! If you look closely you can see that the Ump clearly winks at the pitcher before he pitches, and per the rules laid out in Field of Dreams this gives the pitcher every right to bean the offending party! Sorry, I just couldn't resist.... LOL In all honesty I think it was intentional and the catcher is guilty...

My experience with this is that the real beneficiary from camps like this are the kids that don't have a good support staff from their school. For example, I've been around kids that had D-1 potential but the coaching staff didn't take the time to make phone calls and highlight tapes and all the things that are outside the x's and o's. Those kids usually end up playing ball on a lower level, but with the right support they would have had more options. For this situation a Nike Camp might be the only real chance they have to put their self out there for college coaches from far-away schools. On the other hand I watched a highly talented kid go to camp and have an off day. This was not only a hit to his self promotion, but it was a hit to his self esteem. He still played college ball, but the school he wanted to play at wasn't interested after that day. So my advice is to really evaluate what steps your high school staff is taking and decide if the risk is worth it. MOST IMPORTANTLY, listen to what these guys/gals are saying about what camps are professionally done. Choose the established camps that can tell you what conditions you'll be performing under. i.e. inside/outside, turf/track/grass. These are important factors.
