  1. Will Carlton - Anderson Co - played one year at Utah under Majeras as Doleac's back up. Then was three time NAIA player of the year at Georgetown. 6'9, skilled, and played crazy hard. Just re-read the requirements. I don't know that Anderson made the Sweet 16 while Will was there.
  2. The Cunningham I remember from Allen Co-Scottsville was named Warren. He was very good but not in the same league with some of these others. IMO.
  3. Referees are charged with checking uniforms and equipment. I have seen them ask kids to remove necklaces, wrist bands, rubber bands, earrings, t's hurts under a uniform that doesn't comply with the matching rules. I have seen them ask for a doctors note for a brace. But never for a sleeve or a cloth knee brace.
  4. Not a fan. Wasn't Iverson the one who started wearing one first?
  5. Glad to hear that it is official and glad that Coach wise is back on the sidelines. He will have some talented kids at Franklin. It should be a good fit.
  6. I heard tonight that Tony Wise will be the man at Franklin Co. Pretty reliable source. If so, Congratulations to Tony. He will do a great job. I will be glad to see him back on the sidelines.
  7. I don't think there was much doubt that he was leaving... But he didn't leave right after the state tournament as was being reported in this thread. Good luck to the big fella.
  8. Great player. Even greater human being. I am a big fan of Lofton. Congratulations to him for this honor.
  9. ^ I agree and would add that he loves his teaching job, has kids in the system, grew up in Scott Co, builds houses on the side and there will also be a second high school in Scott Co in the not too distant future. Tim will make a great head coach whenever he chooses to make that move but he has a pretty good gig in Scott Co and can be very picky because of that.
  10. Glenn pulled his name out a few weeks ago according to my peeps. This one has been hanging out there a while. I am interested to see what happens.
  11. Didn't Coach Bibby leave the Eastern basketball program for feeling no support from administration there too?
  12. My oldest son has a June birthday. We had to decide if we wanted him to be 17 his entire senior year or 18. We went with 18. As to the rule in general... It is Aug. 1 and in my opinion it is no one else's business if a parent wants to make a decision that is best for their kid and is within the eligibility limits. Holding back for whatever reason should be a decision that parents can choose to make. Just my opinion.
  13. Congrats to Jeremy. He has been Randy McCoy's right hand man for a long time so he knows basketball. Good luck to him at Bracken.
  14. Lefty white lanky scorer with range. LCA seems to always have one of those.
  15. if you really do know, there is no right time to make those details public.
  16. Congratulations to Coach Daniel. I'm sure he will do a great job... it's in his blood.
  17. I am assuming that this is Coach Nate Valentine who was Brian Lane's assistant at Transy. Anyone confirm this? 56 just made a one sentence announcement at the end of the sports segment just now. If it is accurate, congratulations to Nate. He will do a great job.
  18. ^ I don't think that it is official yet, but sometimes there are more important things than head coaching record.
  19. They've given a guy with no head coaching experience the reigns before.
  20. Griesser was there 4 years. Woodard played high school ball at Caverna. Played college ball at Georgetown and was an NAIA all American. Played about 10 years of professional ball in China. Happy brought him to Montgomery Co as an assistant and he did a lot of the coaching while Happy was injured. Woodard is a good guy with a ton of basketball experience and knowledge but no head coaching experience.
  21. Bigger picture: since the new superintendent was hired there has been a new coach every year. There has been LOTS of turnover with teachers as well. I believe a friend told me that every school administrator (principals and assistant principals) has been replaced in this same time frame. I'm not saying it is right or wrong... But anyone who did their research knew that Mr. Powell's typical procedure is to come in and run lots of people off.
  22. Eli Boggess from Woodford County to my knowledge is not being recruited by anyone for basketball. I love the kid. 100% winner. Clutch. Size and athleticism limit him but small schools would not be sorry having him on the roster.
