JokersWild24
You have to pick a roster of 9 players, all who played in the State Tournament from 1990-1999, to play in a top national AAU tournament. Who do you take and why? If you want, assume you are in a time machine and have to take the player as they were then.
JokersWild24
I'm not going to be as up on this one as I usually am in other discussions because I was too young to remember some of the early 90s and teams. Getslow
Just saw Brandon Bender's name and started laughing uncontrollably. Not anything wrong with him as a selection, it's just reflexive response to seeing it in print at this point...

Because Fishback had a sprained knee when he made it in 1995 and was largely ineffective.

I guess just how they played in the season if it's a guy like Fishback who was hurt at the time. For someone like him, one bad performance isn't as damaging as it would be to others. G1
I'd still take Jared Lorenzen with Derek Smith. He was a very good basketball player at the Sweet 16 3 years in a row I believe.
Smallhoops
I was at most of the state tournaments in the 1990's and remember most of these players. Without much deep thought, my team of nine would be: DeJuan Wheat - Ballard Greg Buckner - University Heights Anthony Epps - Marion County Elton Scott - Marion County Jason Osborne - Male Dan Langhi - Marshall County David Graves - Lexington Catholic JR VanHoose - Paintsville Rick Jones - Scott County

He was actually Mr. Basketball the following year in 1996. They got upset in the region semifinals that season.

Seeing him take the ball out of the next and stand flat footed and hit Smith in stride on a runout at the other end of the floor was amazing. Plato
Michael Cunningham Allen Co Scottsville 1996 I believe. The Cunningham I remember from Allen Co-Scottsville was named Warren. He was very good but not in the same league with some of these others. IMO.
Plato
Will Carlton - Anderson Co - played one year at Utah under Majeras as Doleac's back up. Then was three time NAIA player of the year at Georgetown. 6'9, skilled, and played crazy hard. Just re-read the requirements. I don't know that Anderson made the Sweet 16 while Will was there.
