If the minority powers that be are successful forcing he Redskins to change their name it could start a landslide of support to change other names. In KY what schools could be on the short list? I will go first:

Boone County Rebels

What other schools would be on the short list?

I'd like to see Rebels changed.

That would mean Owen County too.

Been racking my brain. Can't think of any local high schools with anything overtly racist or horrible in some other way.

Southwestern is the Warriors and they use an Indian head.

Allen Central Rebels

Southwestern is the Warriors and they use an Indian head.

I could see there being pressure on that one. I've never really cared about "Warrior" nicknames, but I could see there being a problem. If it was in Louisville or Lexington, there'd already be a problem.

Boyle Co Rebels

Casey Co Rebels

Do any of the "Rebel" schools use the Battle Flag or similar Logo?

If not then there is no way they should change their name.

What about any schools with the nickname "Pirates"?

What about any schools with the nickname "Pirates"?

or Maroons

Are there any "Crusaders" in Kentucky, that would be offensive to some.

Adair County Indians-offensive to native Americans

Webster County Trojans-offensive to the men of Troy

Crittenden County Rockets-offensive to NASA

Lone Oak Purple Flash-offensive to Prince

June Buchanan Crusaders

How about we honor the new, uprising class of people in this country by changing the names of sports/school mascots in their honor............the Offended. Boone County Offended has a nice ring to it. :lol2:
