Don't hate Nell at all, just think she gets more credit than deserved when compared to other 9th Region/NKY Boy and Girl Varsity Basketball Coaches. You must admit that Boone has had an interesting rise in the number of talented transfers that came in the past few years - talented girls from Highlands, Holy Cross, and now the Moss girl to name a few. It's not like they left bad programs or coaches to go to Boone. And no offense to Boone, but academically there are other schools to transfer to, even in the same county (Ryle specifically) that have good basketball programs and higher test scores. I just wonder why Boone? Is it Nell? Or is it other reasons?:notworthy:

Fair enough...just seems that Boone Girls and Holmes Boys land transfers in this sport year in and year out....:popcorn:

Neither SK or Conner were elite teams, but Kelsey meant more to her team than Kayla to hers. Lets face it, this type of voting along with the Enquirer weekly polls and votes, conference voting, etc. is all political and popularity contests based on name recognition and who's been playing longest.

I respectfully disagree with your understanding of the rule and I don't feel you understand that the term "umpires judgment" is key to this whole situation. In his (the umpire's) judgment, he didn't feel the runner was trying to bend or stretch the rule. Now I can't speak for the guy in black working the game but I can speak from years of experience in either coaching and/or enforcing the rules and I felt he was correct in his call. The call was made in a matter of seconds while we have been able to study a well taken photograph over and over for hours. Might I agree with BD77 above, what a game. A well pitched duel....

Unless your on the field and have the play happen in front of you, you don't know what your talking about. The call was right on the money. Just good clean baseball.. Also its easy to be a Thursday morning quarterback when we have still pictures to study from.

Helton boy from Calvary is pretty decent. That team is mostly sophomores.

Building a program...the program was built when Meier left and had a district championship in their hip pocket. Welte and Sawyer are good coaches, but at a small school, it does not matter the quality of coach when your athletes go out for track. Meier was able to keep the kids interested in baseball and stave off the urge to run track. Unfortunately, Villa cannot support two spring sports. Good luck to Sawyer
