The Ball seems to be solely in Mason County's court. As Mason grad I find it hard to believe the animosity that has grown from St. Patrick having the nerve to field such fine young ladies basketball team.

Call it what ever you want, the MC invite, the Royal walk or even cheaters paradise. This simple fact remains, not but maybe a hand full of high schools in the last 30 yrs. in this basketball crazed state has had the tradition and success that Mason Co. has enjoyed! When a tradition rich Maysville high consolidated with tradition rich Mason Co., people should have seen the writing on the wall.

Can anyone post a schedule of the Cooper HS Camp this week?

Congrats Mason Co. Lady Royals and there coaching staff on a very good win. The game was very intense and the Royals win was well deserved. Congrats also to our Lady Saint Seniors and coaching staff who in the last couple of years have made the Lady Saints significant. Significant to the fact that much larger schools really enjoy knocking us off. Good Luck to both Mason and Bracken Counties in the 39th district championship game.

I do However want to congradulate the Cardinals they sure did look like a team on the rise.

At your place St. Patricks leading scorer was out and poor free throw shooting was the difference in the game. Clarks 20 times as big as St. Patrick you should have a better bench.

That's correct, I plan on seeing the second half of the Bengal/jets game at Woody's.

The Lady Saints played a pretty good game against a good team. They will take this loss and learn from it.

Bracken Co. was missing a key player in Sara Sticklen a very talented soph. with a knee injury. I hope she's ready to go the next time these two meet. The Lady Saints did maybe play there best game of the season Wed. night.

The Lady Saints came in at no. 5 in the early L. I. polls last year and then finished no. 1, so I don't give much thought about it this early. St. Parick has kept there first 3 opponents in the game with some not so good free throw shooting, but you had to know that coach Douglas would address this and she has. The Lady Saints free throw shooting was much improved last night at Augusta. The Mason Co. powers that be, decided that a regular season game with a district rival was not in there best interest. When Mason Co. needed a gym for there senior night honoring the leading scorer in Lady Royals history, St. Patrick stepped up and became the visitor on there home floor. Not saying that they owe anyone because they regularly allow St. Patrick (with only one gym) to use one of there many gyms to have a basketball practice. It is no secret that St. Patricks doors nearly closed this year. With the help of our Diocese and a great community this great institution still stands. A Mason Co./St. Patrick game would be well attended and bring much needed revenue to both schools. As a Mason Co. grad I thought it was the end of the world anytime that we would lose to that Bulldog team from Maysville, it never was and in a few days we where already thinking of paybacks. Not saying that The Mason Co/St. Patrick rivalry is anything like the old Mason Co./Maysville rivalry the likes of which this state will never see again! But the game is still a district rivalry and should be played. So I'am calling you out Tim Moore make this game happen, I'am sure Coach Douglas will find room for it.

St. Patrick's all right. What's its say about a team whose 2nd best player is coming off the bench. SENIORITY!

Hanna Haight was a much improved player over the girl I had seen last year. She handles the rock very well and is deadly in the paint. As a Lady Saints fan I believe she was clearly the best player on the court last night. The Lady Saints with a preseason ranking of third in the region have a big bullseye on there back (Mont. and Clark Co. being in a league of there own). In two very physical games the Lady Saints have mustered enough will to finish and win and that is a credit to the coaching these girl recieve. Good coaching too on the Bracken Co. side whose 3/2 zone flustered the Lady Saints. Now on to the officiating, yeah it wasn't good but it was consistantly not good for both teams. SOME TIMES YOU GET THE BEAR, SOMETIMES THE BEAR GETS YOU!

Not that I know of. 3 Seniors, 1 Junior and a bunch of Sophmores and Freshmen.

The Lady Saints gotta win even though they shot poorly, made numerous turnovers and fouled way too much, correctable early season errors when you take into account they graduated three starters from last years 20 win season. What you gotta love is there intensity and overall team quickness. With the steady guidence of Coach Douglas and her assists. (Eddie Hopkins and Sally Parker) this team will be a handful for anyone come tourney time.

Can't wait to see who's been working on there game. Montgomery Co. is the team to beat with Clark Co. a close second. The 40th district has dominated for the most part the 10th region but the gap is narrowing. Good luck to all and again I can't wait for the season to begin.
