Could have but bad calls putting the Lady Saints in foul trouble.

Go Lady Saints! :dancingpa

Game was very physical, alot of tough calls on both ends. Bracken Co came within one point at 38-37 with 6:32 left in the 4th Quarter but Saint Pat went on a 6-0 run to push the lead back to 44-37 with 5:52 left, Bracken Co got it down to 44-41 with 3:58 left but St Pat had another 8-0 run to lead 52-41. Haight was the best player on the court tonight. Douglas knocked down some huge free throws.

Seemed like everytime Bracken Co got close St Pat got a steal and made a huge 3 or a big shot, Bracken Co just couldn't get a shot to roll in and never take the lead.

Look for another good battle in the All A and District Tourny.

What is wrong with klee haven't heard much about her in the first two games? Figured she would be the one to watch out for on the saints team.

The officiating last night was less than stellar. Not because of calls for or against either team but because of the inconsistancy of the calls. One trip down the floor girls would completely run over the other team and nothing would be called. The next trip a hand check or bump would be whistled. I know everyone has an off day but for an official not to be able to remember who committed the foul or who was to be shooting the free throws on at least three occaisions is pathetic. I understand getting the twins for St Patrick mixed up but I think thats why they insist of everyone on a team wearing a different number. I think that the association that the officials are members of should do more site visits and evaluate there officials. They should especially go the the games where weaker officials are assigned those are the guys that need help. On that subject why are smaller schools always assigned the weaker less experienced officials, do they get to pay less for them......I don't think so. Can you imagine sending the two officals of last nights game to a Lexington Catholic or Montgomery county, there would be riots and police escorts to get them out of the building.

As for the number of foul shots St Pat shot, if all the fouls were called they should have attemped at least 75 shots. It was a very rough game and the officials are squarely the blame for it. Keep the game in control early and you won't have the near blood bath we saw last night with the fouls in the end that border being flagrant. Come on Bluegrass Association share your wealth of talented officials with all the schools no matter the size, you and the officials all get the same compensation, or are you afraid to expose your weakness by sending some of these officials to the big games where a ton more people will see them.............. ?

I have to agree, consistency was a problem in this game. Girls were tackled to floor, no whistle.... but head to the other end and a hand check gets a call. Or a girl trips over her own feet and falls into an opponent and the opponent get whistled for a foul.

It's really a wonder no one was seriously injured. I mean, Douglas got tackled at one point and when she got up she didn't even look like she knew where she was and well, ....no call.

I have often wondered if some officials are biased against private schools. If that's the case they need to leave their opinions off the court.

I will say that Bracken County looked better tonight then they did against Mason County. They took better care of the ball and it seemed like they were shooting better, although I don't really know percentage wise if they did actually shoot better.

Haight made some good shots and when she missed she seemed to always get a whistle... which helped later in the game because the Saints seemed to back off for fear of getting called for a foul every time she shot the ball.

IMO, I thought Bracken County got the short end of the stick on the calls. How many times did the Payne sisters have a hold of a Bracken girls jersey and no foul was called. They should be renamed to Grab and Hold. Klee should have been on the bench as well for the simple reason you are not allowed to hook a person in the post the way she was doing Hannah last night. I dont know how the officials were biased towards St. Pat, heck they shot 43 free throws. On a side note, one of the refs last night had the last name of Payne. Interesting.

Thats funny, Bracken got the short end. How many foul shots did Bracken shoot. I believe more fouls were called on St Pat than Bracken. Holding a jersey may not be good but intentionally trying to foul and hurt players is a lot worse and to be honest thats the only way Bracken stayed in the game. At first they tried to go heads up with St Pat and that didnt work 12-2 start. So a time out was called and then the football game began. And are you serious about the Payne name comment or should I explain some things to the other readers on here.

Fouls the first half was BC 10 SP 5 second half SP pat was in the double bonus early. And as far as the rough play, StPat fans must wear blinders because it was started by their team. Why was their no National Anthem before the game.

According to the Ledger Independent article & box score, St. Pat had two players that shot more free throws than the entire Bracken County team (Charisma Payne & Douglas shot 32 to BC's 24). Box score shows St. Pat shooting 42 team free throws.

It's laughable...that a St. Pat fan would accuse any team of being overly aggressive and physical. Seriously, you're one funny dude.
