Fouls the first half was BC 10 SP 5 second half SP pat was in the double bonus early. And as far as the rough play, StPat fans must wear blinders because it was started by their team. Why was their no National Anthem before the game.

They couldn't find the CD. :sssh::D

Bracken Co had their chances to win this game, they got the lead down to 1 and turned the ball over on back to back plays and the Lady Saints knocked down two 3 point baskets to put the lead at 44-37. This game is in December let's calm down, these two teams will probley in the All A and in District.

Not sure what game you watched but the official foul total at the end of the first half was Bracken 12 fouls St Pat 11

According to the Ledger Independent article & box score, St. Pat had two players that shot more free throws than the entire Bracken County team (Charisma Payne & Douglas shot 32 to BC's 24). Box score shows St. Pat shooting 42 team free throws.

It's laughable...that a St. Pat fan would accuse any team of being overly aggressive and physical. Seriously, you're one funny dude.

The reason those two players shot so many is because they were fouled on the shot which means 2 shot fouls. St Pat fouls were silly reaching fouls. that means the first 6 dont get shots and you have to hit both to get the second shot bonus until 10 fouls. If you watched the game you would have easily figured this out.

Hannah Haight spent more time getting body-contact down low, but didn't shoot as many free throws as either Payne or Douglas.

Not to mention she had a pretty good shiner.

St Pat and Bracken both were in the double bonus within 30 seconds of each other with about 2 min on the clock in the fourth so I dont the St Pat got into the double bonus early, matter of fact we had more fouls called on them for the majority of the second half. Total fouls in the second half were 10 on St Pat and 12 on Bracken ( the last two they were trying to stop the clock).

Again my original point is that girls games in small schools do not get the best officials, and what is the reason? We pay the same for the officials know matter how much experience they have. They dont want a lesser quality official at a game with huge attendance because they do not want their weaknesses exposed.

The reason those two players shot so many is because they were fouled on the shot which means 2 shot fouls.

No, the reason those two players shot so many is because FOULS WERE CALLED when they shot, which means 2 shot fouls.

Bracken County did not lose this game because of officiating. Let's get that straight. But there's no way that these two teams, both of which play very physical, should have such a free throw disparity between them.

Total team fouls were 24 to 21 I don't think thats much of a factor so the only true factor is when the fouls were called. If one team is a running team and the other is a half court team then a lot of fouls will be called on the shot of the running team.

IMO, I thought Bracken County got the short end of the stick on the calls. How many times did the Payne sisters have a hold of a Bracken girls jersey and no foul was called. They should be renamed to Grab and Hold. Klee should have been on the bench as well for the simple reason you are not allowed to hook a person in the post the way she was doing Hannah last night. I dont know how the officials were biased towards St. Pat, heck they shot 43 free throws. On a side note, one of the refs last night had the last name of Payne. Interesting.

You're kidding me, right? Talk about people wearing blinders......or maybe just being blind. No relation whatsoever! LMAOROF I know both families, trust me. I guess everyone named Smith must be related too.

Really I'm just saying that the really obvious fouls seemed to be overlooked and the ticky-tack fouls were called. And by the way, I saw Burden holding plenty of jersey's, too.....no call. I guess the Polar Bears were the real "saints" in this game, huh?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hanna Haight was a much improved player over the girl I had seen last year. She handles the rock very well and is deadly in the paint. As a Lady Saints fan I believe she was clearly the best player on the court last night.

The Lady Saints with a preseason ranking of third in the region have a big bullseye on there back (Mont. and Clark Co. being in a league of there own). In two very physical games the Lady Saints have mustered enough will to finish and win and that is a credit to the coaching these girl recieve. Good coaching too on the Bracken Co. side whose 3/2 zone flustered the Lady Saints.

Now on to the officiating, yeah it wasn't good but it was consistantly not good for both teams.

If St. Patrick, over the course of the year, does not develop a bench, they are in for a long season. If the Douglas gets in foul trouble, I would press, press, press, and press some more. There is no true ball handler on the floor for the Lady Saints when she is on the bench. I thought Bracken was gonna go to a press when she picked up her 4th foul, but the Lady Bears settled for a halfcourt trap that produced a TO.

St. Patrick's all right. What's its say about a team whose 2nd best player is coming off the bench. SENIORITY!
