Mason County 54 Holy Cross 52

Mason Co wins on a Kaitlyn Smith shot at the buzzer at about NBA range or deeper!

Lady Royals now 5-0.

WOW!

Congrats to Coach Butcher!

Lady Royals are impressive in this young season!

Is this an indicator that the Indian Ladies are turning the corner??? Sound like they played well.

Another strong game from Beal for HC. She's going to be fun to watch over the next few years. She and Julian are a strong combo.

Congrats to the Royals on the win and to Holy Cross for hanging in there despite losing 7(correct me if I'm wrong) seniors from last years squad.

Sounds like this was an exciting game.

Congrats to the Lady Royals for hanging in there, finding a way to win on the road. 5-0 on the season heading into the Christmas tournaments. This is a much improved team.

I’ll be honest here. I'd be a little concerned about a two point win over Holy Cross.

Last year's Lady Royals team that started 0-8 and finished 8-20 would not have found a way to win this game, down with time running out. Nobody's saying they're world beaters; just much better.

I will be honest here as well, anytime you travel to Northern Kentucky and pull out a win then it's a great win. I don't care who you are playing and papa is right, last years team would not have found a way to win.

I think the Ledger poll has already established who is considered the front runner at least for our district, with Mason Co jumping ahead of St patrick in the polls. I dont know who votes in the polls, but where I come from, you would think there would be some thought in how these teams finished last year and what each had coming back.

It"s a sad thing that these two teams will not meet, but only in the district and

that may not happen depending on draws.

Let's see 1. It's a new season. 2. Mason Co has everyone from last years teams. 3. It should be a great matchup.

The Lady Saints came in at no. 5 in the early L. I. polls last year and then finished no. 1, so I don't give much thought about it this early. St. Parick has kept there first 3 opponents in the game with some not so good free throw shooting, but you had to know that coach Douglas would address this and she has. The Lady Saints free throw shooting was much improved last night at Augusta.

The Mason Co. powers that be, decided that a regular season game with a district rival was not in there best interest. When Mason Co. needed a gym for there senior night honoring the leading scorer in Lady Royals history, St. Patrick stepped up and became the visitor on there home floor. Not saying that they owe anyone because they regularly allow St. Patrick (with only one gym) to use one of there many gyms to have a basketball practice.

It is no secret that St. Patricks doors nearly closed this year. With the help of our Diocese and a great community this great institution still stands. A Mason Co./St. Patrick game would be well attended and bring much needed revenue to both schools.

As a Mason Co. grad I thought it was the end of the world anytime that we would lose to that Bulldog team from Maysville, it never was and in a few days we where already thinking of paybacks. Not saying that The Mason Co/St. Patrick rivalry is anything like the old Mason Co./Maysville rivalry the likes of which this state will never see again! But the game is still a district rivalry and should be played. So I'am calling you out Tim Moore make this game happen, I'am sure Coach Douglas will find room for it.

What are you talking about? We have never played St Pat on Senior night.
