Just wondering who everyone predicts will be the winners of their 1st round games on Wed. & Thur.

This will be a exciting tournment for theses girls especially for the ones who havent been here before but from top to bottom of the bracket my first round predictions are (Henderson county. Marion county.) (Rowan county. Anderson county.) (Boone county. Scott county.) (Rockcastle county. Ohio county.) I have the parenthesis around the teams that would play in the second round if my predictions are right.

Are you sure you are picking Boone to win.....just kidding of course. Go Rebels.

Here are my picks forthe first round games.

Henderson County over Butler

Marion County over Mercy Academy

Breathitt County over Rowan County

Clay County over Anderson County

Bowling Green over Boone County

Scott County over Belfry

Rockcastle County over Murray

George Rogers Clark over Ohio County

Should this happen, it would mean no Louisville school or Lexington school would be in the finals...when was the last time that happened? (Note: I realize no Lexington school can make it as there are no Lexington teams in the Sweet 16 but you get what I'm saying...LOL)

Butler over Henderson

Marion over Mercy

Bowling Green over Boone

Scott over Belfry

Rockcastle over Murray

Ohio Co. over GRC

Marion Co.

Rowan Co.

Clay Co.

Boone Co.

Scott Co.

Rockcastle Co.

Clark Co.

One interesting tidbit about the Rockcastle County/Murray game is that whoever wins, it'll be their school's first victory in the Girls Sweet 16. Murray has only made it to state one other time and that was in 1997, which was the first time Rockcastle County had ever made it (I'll never forget that year because it was my senior year). Rockcastle County has been there five times total and has lost in the first round to Assumption (1997), Christian County (2004), Lexington Catholic (2005), Ohio County (2006), and Letcher County Central (2008).

LCC in 2006 and Ohio Co. in 2008.
