  1. Bishop Brossart will play Augusta, I think, @11:30 and Nicholas Co. will play Bracken Co., @1:30, in semi-finals at Bracken Co. Finals will follow second game.
  2. I'd agree with that list. Add Burney Jenkins and you have 5 of the better umpires in the 10th/11th regions. I have to say umpiring in the 10th and 11th isn't too bad for the most part.
  3. Athens exit 104 off I-75 in Lexington. Turn onto CaneBrake Drive between the two hotels just passed the gas stations, McDonalds, and Spearmint Rhino. If you go by the car auction you've gone too far!
  4. Being a fan of Class A high school football in the state of Kentucky I have taken the time to align each 4 team district across the state. I feel like the main issue that the KHSAA has to look at when aligning these districts has to be travel. Schools today are having all kinds of issues with travel with some boosters having to pay the travel for their team, for this reason I have tried to keep the shortest travel distances for each district. My favorite team has traveled 2 hours each way to play each team in their district for the last few years and I’m hoping something will be done about this. After many years of watching and being a part of Kentucky High School Football here is my idea of the best alignment for Kentucky Class A football for the next few years: District 1--Crittenden Co., Fulton City, Fulton Co., Russellville District 2--Eminence, Frankfort, Holy Cross, Kentucky Country Day District 3--Berea, Bethlehem, Campbellsville, Caverna District 4--Beechwood, Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow District 5--Bishop Brossart, Bracken County, Nicholas Co., Paris District 6--Fairview, Paintsville, Raceland, South Floyd District 7--Hazard, Jenkins, Phelps, Pikeville District 8--Harlan, Lynn Camp, Pineville, Williamsburg The schools to the west of I-75 are the hardest part of this alignment because they are so spread out on that side of the state. Schools east of I-75 are much closer together which makes alignment a little, not much, easier. Two schools in Eastern Kentucky that will complain are Hazard and Pikeville being in the same district. These schools have been pretty powerful in the past in Class A football and I hate to see them in the same district but again I put travel before competition. It’s hard to say a whole lot about competition within a district when you can go back and look at the Northern Kentucky district throughout the 1990s! I remember a few times 4 of those teams (Beechwood, Bellevue, Newport Central Catholic, and Ludlow) being in the Class A top 10!
  5. Nicholas still will be young. They do return most of their skill players. Need to find a QB and Center and that is were it all starts. Will have the Hopkins, Pope and Smith kids back. They make a very good backfield. Hopkins and Washington will be strong on the D side of the ball. All in all could have a good yr they still will be behind Raceland LCA and Fairview in the district.
  6. The Washington Kid is a Stud. Fagen can handle the rock. Nicholas is very excited. Only thing that could bring them down is if the other kids cant handle having to share the glory. The Washington kid is the best Athlete on the floor. 38th district is going to be crazy
  7. campbell also hit a HR against your boy martin and another off the center field fence in the district. campbell didn't pitch in all star game he played 2B and 3B. what if those two guys you mentioned did make it and malcolm thomas didn't, that wouldn't be fair to him then would it. so bottom line there are some good players left out.
  8. Just because you play for Harrison Co. does that mean they should always be superior to everyone else. There are some other good players in the 10th even though they don't have Harrison across their chest. I'm glad the 10th had someone else represent them that had a good yr and that doesn't play for the Breds. Yes, those players were just as deserving but from what I heard the coaches vote on it and evidentally someone else liked Campbell instead. He did have a good year. Oh! I'm sorry,he doesn't wear the maroon jersey. sorry, but thats how other people feel that don't wear that jersey.
  9. Bourbon Co. maybe beat 4 teams with a winning record.
  10. I was at the game and thought Bourbon Co. didnt take the Eagles serious. Bourbon Co. has a very good team but I dont think they are as good as they think. Their fans were very rud and about got into it with a small kid in the stands. I liked how Scott ran out on the field every inning and Bourbon Co. didnt get excited untill the 7th. I would like to also see Bourbon's Schedule and see how many of those 20+ wins actually had a winning season. If some one knows let me know.:laugh::clap::clap:
  11. The ladyJackets dindnt play to their potential all yr. They didnt work hard enough on the small things. When they play teams that can pitch it, well then we dont hit it well. The coaches need to stepp up the competition early next yr. and get the girls used to good play. We dont need to play the schools that cant play a lick.
  12. Nicholas will go as the Mynear kid goes. The Jackets are a very small Class A School playing with the big boys. Scott has a fine team. It should be a win for the much larger school but dont count out the boys from the small town of Carlilse, they have allot of fight in them. Nicholas Co. hasnt anything to lose. I just hope that it is over before midnight. Good luck to both schools.
  13. Not a solid game from either team. Nicholas did just enough to win. Will have their hands full with Scott. The coaches from Nicholas Co. Have done a tremendous job this yr. If a coach would deserve coach of the yr. in the tenth Region it would be Travis Sims. He has done a outstanding job. If the Mynear kid is on, it will be a game, but if he struggles so will the Jackets. Win or lose the boys from Carlisle have don a great job and represented their School very well.:scared::taz:
  14. Nicholas Co beat Portland Christian 75-34 Cavorna beat Beth Haven 62-54 Rose Hill Christian beat Wolfe Co 75-59
  15. Nicholas dominated 3 1/2 quarters. If it wasnt for the stupid penalties and fumble snaps Nicholas would have won. they were inside the 5 twice and inside the twenty 3 other times and didnt score becouse of penalities. Metz and Boyd were completley shut down. If it wasnt for there QB they wouldnt had any o.Bath will win against Leslie, but after that just get the equipment up. The coaches have done a great job bringing Bath back
  16. It wasnt a dirty play just football. It was a broken play and some of Nicholas Co. kids just froze and didnt go help their Q.B. Mynear will be missed on Defense the most.
  17. What is everyone's thoughts about the Paris vs. Nicholas Co. Game.:scared: This could be the 4th spot in the play-offs.
  18. Jordan Mynear tore all ligaments in his knee. He was the difference in the game. Great kid who was a 4 yr. starter for the bluejackets. He is really down, was hoping to play ball at the next level. The Bluejackets will not be the same with out him.
  19. I look for Raceland to roll. Yes Fairview has a good team, but not the caliber of Raceland. These two teams will play again in the district. Fairview would have been down this year if it wasnt for the transfers. The score from Nicholas Co. would have been different if the Mynear kid doesnt go down at the end of the first quarter. After Nicholas lost him they werent the same team. I wish both good luck they have fine football teams and have good coaching staffs.
