Nicholas lead until the 4th qtr. That is when the Wildcats offense and defense exploded! If the Cats had played with that much fire and intensity the ENTIRE game, I think they could have beat any team in 2A.

Leslie Co., Long trip from Hyden to Owingsville! We almost had a 3 way tie in the district if Shleby Valley would not have let Prestonsburg score late in the 4th qtr.

 

I think this game is a no brainer but if Leslie Co comes ready to play and Bath Co does not, who knows. I think the match up for Bath Co will be in the next game when they would have to travel to Corbin and play the Redhounds and that is a great 2A team. Bath will be ready for the playoffs.

A very bad class A team which did not even qualify for the playoffs almost beat Bath Co. It does not matter how fired up Bath Co gets, because in 2 weeks Corbin will beat them as bad as they want.

Leslie should not be a problem for Bath Co.. Leslie is a team of mostly Freshman and Soph's......watch out for them the next 2 seasons...

No excuses for a week off hangover. Nicholas was up 14-6 after 3 quarters. If you lead for 3 quarters then in my book you almost won the game. What is the excuse going to be in 2 weeks when Corbin is up 40-0 at halftime.

That's a good question! If I was in the kid's heads I could tell you but I am not so I cannot answer that question. I know this, Prestonsburg is not as good of a team as they were last year in my book and they did come to our field and beat us hands down. Maybe you can answer this question, why did Prestonsburg go to Beechwood and get stomped againt a very good 1A school? Prestonsburg was the 3rd rated team in 2A at that time, should have been a good game but it was not.

I guess you answered your own question. Because Beechwood is a very good team, regardless of class. And Prestonsburg appears to be very inconsistent this year. Note their last 2 games where it looked like they didn't even show up.

 

It looks like P burg has the capabilities, but doesn't always play with it's heart. I'm not up on Prestonsburg this year except for the scores, but their inconsistency is obvious. Either they are not playing well of late or the other teams are preparing for them better.

Totally agree! I think the game that will see what P-Burg is made off will be the Middlesboro game (If they make it past Shelby Valley). Middlesboro defense is very good!
