Yes, the Colonels are playing a light schedule this year. I think it will bite them come tournament time. But they do need to build confidence. The only way you can build a winning program is to win games. Apex, Imagine how good the Storms kid would be if he had choosen to play for Coach Deaton last year.

WOW this is a shocking score. What is going on at the burg? To much preseason hype for this team? People talking about 10+ wins, 3rd in the district? This team only beat 2 Kentucky schools last year. This is a tough situation for Coach Robinson. I hope he can right the ship.

True, he did run off a very talented player who would not follow team rules and placed himself above the team. The team was actually better without him. Plus, that kid now stops in and hangs with Guff from time to time. The kid knows he was wrong. He CHOSE to drive a bus. His willingness to get up at 5:30 or so demonstrates his work ethic. Has the administration there been impressed with ANY coach the past few years? Unless your related to the Sup. G.C. got a good one!!!!!! Great hire, great person!!!!!

I've known Coach Guff from his days playing at Union. He is a great guy and is very knowledgeable of the game. Grant County is very fortunate to get a guy of his integrity and work ethic. I am confident he will do a fantastic job. Congrats Guff!!

Mr. Fundamental... You dont leave much to the imagination. Let's see. The 13th region finals are tonight, which has 2 50th district teams in it. So, those two coaches are safe. You have stated in another thread how well Robinson from Williamsburg is liked and done. So, who does that leave? Hmmm.. Only one other coach in the 50th. But where is he going? And who has that kind of $$$?

This thread makes me sick. This is nothing but rumors and speculation probably started from a disgruntled mommy or daddy who's son couldn't play dead in a bad western. Was is not just a few years ago that Elam's teams won back to back district championships, and was a runner-up in the region? Coach Elam does nothing but give his heart and soul to the KC program. Oh yeah, HIS TEAM IS STILL PLAYING IN THE REGION TOURNAMENT!!!!

I agree Les... I think the big MO. from the North game really helpped carry K.C. Your right, I did forget about Messer's 3's. They gave Central a good kick start! Aside from the last 3 minutes of the first half, I thought Central played great. They were patient and took what the Tigers gave them. They made the extra pass, and seemed to really play as a team. My hats of to Elam!

Breeze, I was getting ready to start a thread on this game. I can't believe there is not much chat about this huge game. I would say this has to be one of the biggest rival first round games in the state. Now to the game. Im afraid that B'ville may have my Panthers #. Or should I say that Dinky has Elams #? With this game being played at Knox C. I think it will be a barnburner!! Look for Central just out to an early lead and the Tigers to hold on and Bite the Panthers in the end!!

Great scoop there Schue... KC definately stole one in NL's backyard. Great win for the Panthers, should definately give them some big MO. going into the district. Feel bad for Conway. Felt like NL's youth got them tonight. Just didn't make plays or FT's down the stretch.

I feel that the Colonels should have showed vast improvement this year. After all, didnt they return like the whole team and only had 1 descent player graduate? I compare them much to my Panthers. Even though they beat my team, I feel that this season has been a disappointment for both teams. There is a major youth movement in the 13th. Corbin, Knox, North, Clay, Williamsburg just to name a few. This cannot be the Colonels out forever!

Who does Clay play in the district? What is the rest of the district games look like?
