Whitley county falls to 8-18 on the year and Monticello goes to 7-20. I'm not sure whats happened to the Colonels, they have lost 12 of their last 16 games after starting the season at 4-2. Not really what most Colonel fans hoped for this year.

I am not sure many were expecting much more than 5 wins for the Colonels. Seems to me Whitley County has lived up to most expectations. They are very young and will only get better with time.

This is a game I really felt like Whitley could and should win,was it played at Monticello? I agree maybe alot of people thought Whitley would win more than they have and they did lose two or three they have won, but IMO the groundwork for future sucess is being laid.

I agree, IF all the pieces return next season, THEN the Colonels should see improvement. This time of year you hear all kinds of stuff about shuffling and changes so we will have to see what shakes out this spring.

It's always next year with the Colonels. They have got to learn how to play team basketball or next year will be more of the same. It won't surprise me if there is some shuffling before next year though.

I feel that the Colonels should have showed vast improvement this year. After all, didnt they return like the whole team and only had 1 descent player graduate?

I compare them much to my Panthers. Even though they beat my team, I feel that this season has been a disappointment for both teams. There is a major youth movement in the 13th. Corbin, Knox, North, Clay, Williamsburg just to name a few. This cannot be the Colonels out forever!

If Whitley can get everyone on the same page, then they should be pretty good next year and possibly be in the top half of the region. If not, they will continue along the path of mediocrity.

Did Whitley ever lead in this one?

Yes but I think Whitleys biggest lead was 3 -5 in the first half. I think they were down by about 4 at half time. Monticello went a run in the 3Q and pushed the lead to double digits where it stayed the rest of the night. #15 McFarland was red hot from the 3 point line. I think he hit 5 or 6 for the game.

IMO their best potential player and best athlete (maybe the leading scorer last year) Cody Jones never played a second this year due to his car accident last summer, he (again IMO) had the making of a real star and would have made Whitley a much better team.

Thank you Hector. Sometimes Whitley can have a large lead and not be able to hold onto it.
