  1. Tough choice: Hawaii Grand Canyon Yosimite Alaska Pacific Northwest Are all places I haven’t been.
  2. I had slim hopes that they would be cancelled and run as 4 year olds next year and from then on.
  3. I love seeing everyone's pet photos. I'll process some....they are too large to post normally. Proud servant to 5 horses, 2 cats, and 4 dogs.
  4. We have had a Keurig, and we have a pseudo-Keurig at present. We keep some pods on hand but usually use regular (dark roast) coffee in the reusable basket. On a side note, I use a Ninja one cup at a time for the past several years. I saw the commercial on TV a few years ago with Sofia Vergara and casually remarked I'd like to have that....I got a coffee maker :-).
  5. Mrs. doomer had all the symptoms during the holidays. It is the sickest I've seen her, and I was very concerned, and it did not go away quickly, but it did. Maybe, maybe not, but suspicious. What helped her was taking an old prescription for prednisone.
  6. If we can stay healthy I believe we will be Ok.
  7. Prayers for those affected. I grew up outside of Memphis, and we had a number of tornadoes during my time there and they are terrifying. I had one, and a smaller one at that, hit 50 yards from my apartment and moved away one of my last years there...it twisted the wires around the electric poles, blew out the back of Wendy's 100 yds. away and picked up the top of a pizza hut (during dinnertime) next door to the Wendy's and put it in the parking lot, and there were only minor injuries miraculously.
  8. We met minidoomer2 in Lexington Saturday at Ramsey's, and he and I had the Traditional Breakfast...I think it was called. Up to 5 eggs any way you want them, toast, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and three pancakes. Don't try to eat it all, haha.

    The New Dog

The leg hiking is a competitive thing when they get a bit older...it's often to leave their mark higher than the next guy. Your dog sounds very normal. Two of my four are labs, and they are awesome dogs. The yellow I have sheds tons as most do, but my chocolate lab doesn't shed that much surprisingly. The yellow sheds enough for all four though. I feel your pain there.
  10. I went to bed at halftime thinking the game was safely tucked away....I gues the Cats did too.
  11. Memphis is decimated with injuries, and Achiuwa sat most of the game in foul trouble, then hurt his hip. Not to take anything away from USF, but Memphis is really struggling. I don’t know who they can beat right now.
  12. I had a fake knee job last summer, so I was limited as to what I could do for the back half of the year, but I am now able to do a lot more so I am hitting the exercycle and elliptical machines 4 to 5 times a week plus my normal weight routine, but I am able to add squats with dumbells. I maintain a farm and horses, so I get a lot of functional exercise walking, moving hay, working with the horses and riding. I've cleaned up my diet a bit (although not enough yet), and I have lost about 7 pounds from the right places. I'm within 3 pounds of my target now, but at this point is more about body fat than total weight, and I still have a bit to go.
  13. On the recommendation of @mcpapa, I am reading the Jack Reacher series, and I am now into the 7th book in the series Persuader. I'm addicted. Also I am reading a horse training book entitled Perfect Partners.
  14. Prayers for you my friend.
  15. True! When and where are big variables to this equation.
  16. The MSU player seemed to be doing a Kash Daniel on his leg. Tough call.
  17. Memphis moved the ball well against PSU...almost 600 yds. ofoffense but had trouble finishing off drives. UM didn’t embarrass themselves considering they lost their head coach and both coordinators and other coaches since season end, AND they were missing three starters, the TE, best DB...both to injury, and the starting left o-tackle who left the team for some reason. I didn’t go into the game thinking UM would be able to stop the PSU run game...just hoped they might limit the big plays. I agree that sack-interception was a killer, but so was the one on the PSU goal line where UM could have made it a one score game. UM’s placekicker is money. The punter had a bad day though which led to favorable field position for PSU.
  18. It will take me a while. I read a lot when I traveled overseas. Then I retired and had several partially-read books. I started back this summer when I had my knee replacement and finished them plus a few more. Now that I am ambulatory, I turn off the TV at 9pm no matter what and read until I am sleepy which is usually less than an hour.
