  1. I am more inclined to believe he was more frustrated by this than he let on. He is certainly missed, but the team has done well without him. And, in the Oregon game, he was a marked man...two weak foul calls had him sitting out most of the first half. Why bother with college?
  2. Might as well. Certainly a loss for Memphis, but they’ll be ok. Not sure this is a win for the NCAA in the long run.
  3. Tree in front living room and some table decorations. Small village on desk in dining room. Lights and decorations on mantle in den. Various sundry table decorations in the kitchen. Small lit tree by front door and lighted fake wreath :-) on front door. I put lights in a cedar tree next to the front porch and have hanging decorations along the porch where ferns hang during the warmer months. Lights on the deck railings in the back of the house. We have battery operated candles in the front windows, but we've yet to turn them on.
  4. When I was a child, Santa's presents were not wrapped. We did not wrap our children's Santa presents either. Some of my fondest memories are of my older sister waking me up to go to the living room to see what Santa brought and then staying up Christmas Eve putting things together to be under the tree for our children on Christmas morning. Of course the true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ, but I honestly don't remember looking forward to, or a memorable Christmas celebration at church. I am glad some of you weren't my parents. Although....Santa hasn't left me a present in a long time, so I've mostly likely been bad.
  5. I just finished Merry Christmas Alex Cross, and I am now starting the Jack Reacher series. The first book is Killing Floor.
  6. Love it...especially the part about the truck...and the past due notices all over the place.
  7. Still alive...but the day ain't over yet.
  8. Finally, some reforms are being enacted. IMO not enough yet, but a start. Kudos to Arthur Hancock and Gary Stevens who are able to grasp the big picture while many in the sport keep their heads buried in the manure. 9. I agree UC will be the team to beat next year. Memphis needed to do it this year as we knew the lure of the P-5 was looming for Norvell already, and even with the best coaching hire, it is a challenge to pick right back up although Norvell came pretty close following Fuentes. I was impressed with UC, and I hope they beat that Ohio team from Columbus next year if they play. UM has promoted their Deputy Head Coach and O-line coach to interim head coach for the upcoming bowl game, and the inside scoop was that he is the frontrunner for the job. Ryan Silverstein is his name. He is very popular with the players, and he was involved in recruiting many of them as well. I hope the admin. doesn't fool around and lose valuable assistants or recruits for a failure to make a timely decision. IMO, UM should have put $4.0 mio on the table, publicly, and forced Norvell to refuse it. If nothing else, to make a statement about the current state of college football. I was vocal about this on the UM fan pages for what it was worth, haha. Maybe their reason not to do this was the added distraction. He was making $2.7 mio, and he will be making $3.7 at FSU. I bring this up because UC may be dealing with a similar situation in the near future. So, if UC wants to keep him after next year, give him a big bonus clause NOW in his contract that puts a million or two in his pocket when they make the AAC championship game next year. This is how Boise State is keeping their coach.
  10. It wouldn’t surprise me to see UC back next year. Hopefully UM can transition easily with a new coaching staff, but it will be a challenge. Also it’s unknown even which players will be back...they were loaded at RB this year even with Patrick Taylor #6 being injured most of the year and not quite back to form when he did return. Luckily, Antonio Gibson #14 emerged as a stud and Kenneth Gainwell #19, a freshman had a great year. UC did a good job on Gainwell, but Gibson sprang loose. UC should be happy to know Gibson is a senior.
  11. This college football alignment is very frustrating to those of us who support programs not in the so-called P5 conferences.
  12. Very evenly matched teams, and I think both suffered from some nerves which undermined both offenses.
  13. I hate this for UM...but it’s the landscape of college football.
  14. UM hates to lose Norvell, but Ole Miss would be a bitter pill. I am surprised Fickell’s name hasn’t come up more often...or maybe I just overlooked it.
  15. Gotcha. It’s been a while so I didn’t recall all the facts. It was an avoidable tragedy. If Z had any brains then, he would drop this suit and put it behind him as he got off lucky.

    WAZE App.

    Been using it for years.
  17. Just for the record: wasn’t it established that Martin attacked and was on top of Zimmerman hitting him resulting in lacerations and a broken nose? Isn’t that why he was found not guilty? A jury can only decide based on the known facts.
  18. I am of a like mind. I have no issue with a persons orientation. I have very good friends who realized they were gay and I am happy they are happy. But, I do agree, the entertainment industry would have one think that a high proportion of the population is gay. In fact they influenced me into thinking it was 5 to 10 times the 4%.
  19. Many in Memphis think it will be Norvell’s last game as coach with an announcement Saturday night. When Fuentes’ situation came up, the team crashed and burned. This may be in UC’s favor.
  20. I only watched the first half, but as I switched over to another game, I immediately saw a foul called that wouldn't have registered a second glance in the UL game. It was hard for me to ascertain that Michigan was playing any defense as they appeared to be slower than UL. However, maybe it is more of a comment on how different refereeing crews call games.
  21. 23,725 give or take a few. I'd like to get my money back on a few of them.
  22. Just finished The Bluegrass Files: Down the Rabbit Hole, which is written by a Lexington author and set in Lexington. It is a crime/action series featuring a couple of PI agencies..one over Maxwell's Bakery and the other across the street. Most of the geographical references are local...ie. horse farms, the Castle, Joe Balogna's. It was a decent story. There are three more in the series available at Joseph Beth book store.
  23. Er...is the real question: what were they smoking?
