I was told he went seven with well over 100 pitches on Friday. He then closes on Tuesday and went again last night. These early season games must mean a lot to someone.

The title to this thread is a bit deceiving. I am curious if the NKY coach is thinking like me (or I like him). There are very few hard throwing Pitchers at the high school age. There are kids who can throw hard that take to the mound. It is one thing to throw in the 90's, it is another to know where it is going when you do. If my team was to face a hard thrower, we would take a lot of pitches to make sure he can throw strikes. If he can, UH-OH, it could be a long day. As for that NKY coach needing to get out, I am pretty sure he has been around and seen enough to make an observation.

I find it sad that he is eligible. I know of at least one young that was going to transfer a couple years ago because of a football injury. He was going to run track, a sport his school did not have, since he could no longer play football. He was told there would be a one year period to sit out since he had played some varsity football that year. At least that was a legitimate reason.

Can you play a high school sport for two schools, in the same school year, even if you move?

I did not see the '97 BW team or the Danville team. I feel the '07 BW team was very good. They had size and speed. I believe that line would be bigger across than Mayfield of this year. Cody Elliott could run with anyone from Mayfield, IMO. That team completely dismantled Frankfort that year.

If he thought there was not room that night he should come up when we play NCC. There are no fans on the track then neither. I guess it must of been a good experience if this all they have to complain about. LOL TP, I would hope you would not let one game be your judge of Mr. Vocke. I would think you are better than that. MF set the defense up to stop him and force the pass. I wonder what would of happened if say even half of the drops were caught.

I wish my son could of been on the field Friday night and all season. He would of loved to had the chance to be out there the last 2 1/2 seasons. It is easy to find the negative points in a loss. Maybe there are issues that may need to be addressed, maybe not. They do not need to be addressed in a public forum. Step up and go have a meeting with who you need to. Do not hide behind a keyboard. It is also easy to find the negative points in something when you do not want to work as hard as the people in charge are asking. This is just my two cents and it may mean nothing. What play did Hazard run for the 2 point conversion? Is West the lineman that started as a freshman when LCA went to the championship game in '07.

The difference in the third downs, in my opinion, was simply making plays. As mentioned earlier, too many dropped passes. I will tell you for a fact, there is no way they got tired and No Way They Gave Up.

Good game by the Cards. They seem to have 3-4 guys as fast as Vocke. If they keep their heads on it will be hard for anyone to beat them next week. Good luck and travel safe. A large part of this Tiger team will return next year. Maybe we can go for 3 in a row.

Well since you do not know sf, I will tell you. The Chiefs played all of the teams you listed last year. Just because they did not go to a tourney where there will be D-1 coaches means nothing. They can not control what teams come to certain tourneys. Travel was cut down last year because of the economy and families finances. It is funny how my son did not even play summer ball this past year and already has the chance to play college ball. Kind of puts a hole in some of your thoughts of what people have done. There is not a kid on this years team nor last year that will play at Michigan, LSU, Vandy or anywhere like it. There are kids who will play at Ohio Valley, Bluefield, Shawnee St., Asbury and other small schools and they will get an opportunity to do so because of Coach Sanders and Coach Rouse. If they do not it is the players fault.

Coach Sanders probably does not go to some of the big tourneys at places like Michigan, Purdue and Vandy because he does not have any players that those schools would look at. I know for a fact he had scouts/ coaches at games last year and players and parents never had an idea. If Bluegrass is getting a black eye it is because Some people are saying things that are not true to make themselves look better. Coach Sanders has done a great job over the years getting kids the opportunities where they can play and get an education. This is an absolute joke for some one to say. When a player does not get contacted by a college of there choice because of grades, ability or laziness it is not a coaches fault. Just for the record, my son is being given the chance to play college ball. He is given this chance because he has good grades, works hard and Coach Sanders has talked with college coaches about him. Thanks Coach Sanders for all you do!

Mayfield could compete for any state championship in Kentucky this year, except 6A.

If you are going to tell him about BW players, at least give him the good ones. The left tackle is 350 and going to OSU, the QB 6'6"- 245 and has an arm like Vick with better accuracy. BTW, the tailback is 6'1"=215 and runs a 4.3 40. I love how the Mayfield faithful are trying to talk up someone else. After last years beat down at Mayfield, the Tigers will not want to see the Cards show up in Ft.Mitchell. That is if the slow and small Tigers can somehow get by Frankfort.

Come on snakesnot, everyone knows your team is ranked number one. Mayfield has been there all year long. They are number one and I am not sure anyone can stay within 2-3 touchdowns of them. BW team speed is good but, the Cards are faster than anyone BW has seen this year. If BW gets lucky enough to get by Frankfort (at Frankfort Again!) I hope they can at least make it a respectable game in the semis.

That is true 99. It is also a shame. I figure most of the people who vote on POY look at stats and a player from a favorite school. They never see most kids play. If you pitch against top teams and lose 3-1 ( or something close) all people see is you lost. What if the pitcher struck 8 and all runs were unearned? In my opinion that would be a great outing against a top team. This is my opinion. I would guess Mr. Bertke would take a region championship over the individual award anyway.

I am sure Beechwood would love for Johnson to step up and be one of the best pitchers in the region next year. That would give them a great one- two punch in Johnson and Bertke. Bertke should have the chance to be in the running for POY. He will probably get the ball against all the big boys next year, Lex Cath, Moeller, etc.

My guess is you can see it pass behind the upright.
