I would not trade those years for nothing. My son and daughter played select for many years. We have been from Memphis to Cooperstown to different parts of Florida and many, many points in between. My son has been to Gatlinburg area so many times it is crazy. It was an absolute blast. I am trying to figure out what to do with myself now. You may have to make your way around to some fields. I would say most select teams are getting ready to play or are underway. What area are you from? Someone on here may know a coach or team that could use a player. What age is she? I figure 15-16. Her age as of May 1 will tell what age group she would fall in, 15-U, 16U, ETC. As SSC stated, there is a tourney in the Northern Kentucky area this weekend. I hoped this helped some. The play by Murray was awesome. I am not sure about the "not close" part. Dixie had bases loaded early with one out and did not score. It seemed Dixie had multiple chances to score throughout the game. Good pitching and questionable plate discipline cost Dixie. I thought the play at the plate was correct. Max complained, but the ump was not having it.

I think the scoreboard showed 3 errors for CCH. I would term most of the balls in the "dirt/turf" as wild pitches. I can't fault the catcher on a ball that bounces before it gets to him. If I am not mistaken, the first 2 runs scored on WP'S after a fly ball to left was not caught. CCH did attempt several bunts, most being unsuccessful. They were not all for sacrifices.

The home field for Shawnee holds a lot of history. Willie Mays played there. It has the original brick home run wall. It sits next to a football stadium the was the original home of what is now the Detroit Lions.

If they make it to the championship in the "A" they will play 3 games in that tourney. There are 8 teams that advance to Lexington. The KHSAA site has them at 13-7 with the "A" games counted. It does not show a win against Eminence. It shows a 6-5 win against Trimble and a 7-0 win against Owen in the "A". I suppose the Eminence game could be the game missing on KHSAA that would make them 14-7 with a lot of season left.
